He's such a great artist man, one of the best. Who thinks Heavy Metal magazine and 1981's movie influenced The Fifth Element and Avatar? those are like HM the magazine brought to life.
Being adept at Illustration is something that yields very quickly to concentrated study. Copying gets you there on an intuitive level. And it's fun. If you want to codify what you're doing, the best source for instruction are books by Loomis and Bridgeman, all can be found as free PDFs on the internet.
excellent artist, and i like the original story Bord for the den segment from heavy metal. shows much better depth and detail then the movie. thanks for posting this for those of us who would appreciate it.
check out my collection of Corben work at "comic book room Hobbyland VII Corben". I started collecting it at age 18, and it hadn't really been that hard to get it. Just have to find the good comic stores. And if you need any proof that Corb is more than boobs and muscles, your should read either the Cage miniseries from Marvel, or The House on the Borderland.
If Corben's art has to be explained to you oubapo, then you wouldn't get it anyway. Folks like different kinds of art for all kinds of reasons, and if Corben's art isn't your cup of tea then simply find something else that suits you. Why bash the man's work?
corben is without doubt one of the most important comic artists of all times. Mutant World, Bloodstar, Sinbad, Rowlf and THe Beast of Wolfton are simply superb.
Been a big fan of Corben since I was a kid. Hard to say which of his work is the very best because so much of it is so good, but I'm a bit partial to his B&W halftone work. I've always aspired to be as good as him, but my stuff doesn't come close.
please check out
an old story from corben from 1972

he's doing a lot of Hellboy work lately, including Hellboy in Mexico to be released in May. Hellboy's "The Crooked Man" received an Eisner Award.
Corben is simply the best.
Vote with your wallets, get them to keep'em comin'!
Viva Corben!

Las últimas escenas corresponden, de hecho, a la historia que se presenta también en la película ochentera "heavy metal".

Richard Corben's work makes me wish I'd taken up illustration as a serious hobby a long long time ago instead of music.
I don't think at 28 I can start now and ever draw even 1/1000 as well as he does by the time I'm 35 or 40.

Boobs and monsters... What's the point? To help teenagers getting a wet dream?

He he! How mature! This "answer" proves me right: only sexually repressed teen geeks like this kind of shitty "art".

No one needs to explain me something that I understand just too well. But you are right, I shouldn't be here at all losing my time. Bye!

Corben's the man. Not only enormously talented but as prolific as they come. Guy's been cranking it out for around 40 years.

Gracias por poner esto. Corben es el artista más grande que ha dado la hitoria de la humaidad. Nuff Said!

Richard a vastly under appreciated tremendously talented artist. Been a fan ever since he drew way back during Creepy Eeerie days.
