  • I NEVER get tired of listening to Quark, Strangeness, and Charm.

"Quark... strangeness and charm... quark... strangeness and charm..."

  • Stupid sam fox,why oh why!

  • c'mon do you believe this.... These guys never fought.

  • documentaries such as this, really show you the way things really are. i mean it's not like the drugs from the 60's trully died off after 1969.

  • bu4rnedCID

  • samantha fox... why? all insane

  • Palace Springs is shit hot

  • You always find the same story with bands. One minute it's "All for one and one for all" , and then when sucess comes, theres always one who thinks he is the leader and wants everybody out. Dave Brock is the same a lot of seventies musicians.

  • I know what you're saying but they would have been a lot worse if Brock hadn't taken control, I think.

But maybe they should have split in 79 when Calvert left? But I'm glad they carried on, cos they are now an institution.

  • is levitation a good album?

  • it's ok, not their best but certainly not their worst!

  • That was me on the message board!

  • This was soooo bad! Good band implodes!

  • the Dave Brock Band ... and i think it is a scandal that simon king was cast aside and hasnt really worked since (maybe dave leaves a bad taste in your mouth ?)

the band from live 79 onwards is not hawkwind as i know it and as i said should have been the dave brock band in name as well as reality

  • Hawkwind are the most under-rated band of British Music! Yo!

  • Some people take themselves too seriously. Some take too many drugs. This band promoted love and peace but struggled to lead by example. AS a result, after knowing many members personally, I no longer pursue any "fan-ship" to Hawkwind, however I still enjoy their music from time to time.

  • Spinal tap vibe. What a fucking pathetic farce that band was.

  • Song at 0.55 is Social Alliance, Ginger Baker wanted to take over the band sack people and call it 'Ginger Bakers Hawkwind', their entire back catalogue is being remastered from Nov 2008 so there should be some ineresting releases.

  • He could have thought of a better name than ex- Hawkwind!

  • One amusing name I've heard proposed is Hawk-binned LOL

  • brock fired so it would remain his band. lemmy was clearly fired because of his dominant role in the band ditto turner its just a wonder that calvert was able to take over the band for a few years but i suspect that was due to brock realising that he needed him badly and when calvert and the other genius house left he really should have renamed it

  • Well said - I completely agree with that.

  • If Huw,Lemmy, bob, dave and nick had all stayed together and played together.

Who knows what would of happened.

  • went to that Brixton gig was bloody fantastic. I remember shouting out play "lost Jonny" and Lemmy saying back "he can stay lost". Also remember how sticky the floor was and how thick the air was lol. Sam Fox was a bloody disgrace though to be honest. Never knew it was so tense though backstage.

  • Yeah, she came in on the wrong bar and sang flippin' 'Mistress of the Universe' !!! Who was the cunt who kept trying to 'high five' Lemmy after every song?

  • My uneducated guess is that 7 would B the Hall of the Mountain GRill & Warrior at (on?) the Edge of Time daze. I did a High grade low cost dose of trip, & after listening 2 "Warrior" I sat on the side of my parent's house on a different plane! I understood all kinds of things about sunlight & the nature of things that I instantly forgot, although I'm geussing Ill get a replay someday!

  • cool i got on this section, thanks for putting this on here

  • This is a unintended joke people, SEVEN BY SEVEN ¿

  • 7/9 7/9 7/9?

  • 7 of 9 7 of 9 7 of 9

If you want to get into it...you've got to get out of it!

  • SEVEN OF NINE SEVEN OF NINE SEVEN of NINE SeVeNofNiNeSeVenOfNiNe70F97of9sEvEnOfnInEsevenofofofofnininenine

  • "persistence is NOT futile". Where is seven of nine these days ? :)

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the song playing at 2:21 pls? Would be much obliged.

  • ...it´s "Motorway City" from "Levitation" (1979)

  • Cheers

  • You wouldn't happen to know the other song at 0:55? (I'm too young to know these things)

  • Jééésus mááán , you can't have it all ,concentrate on captain Lockheed instead!

  • OH yes! Captain Lockheed & the Starfighters!

    Fantastic album!

  • That's "Social Alliance" I think.

  • are they with lemmy though????

  • why was ginger baker fired?

  • why isnt part 7 posted?

  • Hawkwind lost it musically after Warrior on the edge of time...

  • i disagree although it was a different type of music up until levitation. loads of melody some amazing imput from simon house and brilliant lyrics from calvert. they should have chucked it after house left them.

  • chichigord...you don't get it.

  • Space Ritual was the pinnacle...Nothing needed to be done after that...Nothing should have

  • It's just as well that hW did things after Space Ritual, as I only got into them in 1976. My life would have been very different these last 30 years had HW knocked it on the head after SR. I might have got better grades at college :D

  • I was 12 on acid when I first saw them in 1974 in Toronto at Convocation Hall. Didn't spoil my grades a bit. I passed grade 7 with flying colours...No pun intended

  • COME ON ! cHIC,THIS IS UTTER NONSENSE

It's no use listing the great albums that

came after Ritual,granted...they made some shite, the Calvert years were brilliant Especially The Qark album,And Captain Lockheed & the Starfighters, even in the 90s

they made some interresting stuff like"it's the buisiness of the future to be dangerous"

  • I won't argue with you there...I like pretty much everything they did, but it seems to me they climaxed on that ritual tour (which I was lucky enough to see...on purple microdot at 13)...The energy and tightness was never really recaptured after that...in my opinion (used to have that Lockheed album...someone burnt a big hash hole in it though...I'd love to hear it again)

  • I think most HW fans will agree the SR album hit a very special peak. Personally, I think it's a glittering mountain-top standing proud in the whole of the global rock & roll landscape.

  • The Lemmy years were the best.

  • i have stopped buying hawkwind material after xenon codex, it just seemed to be mediocre musicans orbiting brocks ego

  • That was 1988. Are you really describing Alan Davey as mediocre? Or Tim Blake or Jason Stuart? Or... well the list goes on...

  • thats exactly who im talking about ! non entities chosen by brock for their lack of creativity and sycophancy towards him, anyone with a personality or real ability

  • Alan Davey is anything but mediocre, his solo album Bedouin is certainly worth a listen!

  • electric teepee was the last good onbe, i think

  • don't know... but it think quite a bit...

  • How much did we miss between when the manager was talking about speed in Canada and about the punks?

  • It's an entire chunk of over 9 mins. I must have screwed up when I was converting the AVI clips to MPEG, and overlooked one. I've renumbered these parts and part 7 (the missing part) will be uploaded soon, I hope!
