  • @ludwa93

I strongly disagree, best examples are some US bands like VON or Leviathan, also many bands originating from France nowadays make really great bm and in fact push the genre forwards instead of rehashing the same over again (or just copying Darkthrone ;) )

  • @Sidus666

    I totally agree

  • @Sidus666 :

Yah, France, but Canadian Black Metal, too. US black metal exist. But if you make a comparaison with death US' bands, the reallity is here : black metal is european, death is more american (even they are exceptions, like Von, Krieg, or "Metal Noir Canadien". And in France, they are good bands of death (Severe Torture, Gojira, Benighted, Hail of Bullets, Impureza, Behemoth, Vader, Decapited, Hour of Penance, Gorefest ...)

  • @MaitreKuza Yes, but:

    -Gojira is hardly death metal

-Hail of Bullets is from the Netherlands

-Behemoth, Vader and Decapitated are all Polish

    -Hour of Penance is Italian

    -Gorefest is Dutch

  • I know, i'm sorry, I would said european. Simple error

  • @MaitreKuza oh, ok then :)

  • @Sidus666 Death Metal is imo more scandinavian than US.

I mean, the us have got great bands like Death, Posessed, Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel.

But we've got At The Gates, Entombed, Dismember, Unleashed, Carnage and the whole old school scene in sweden wich includes countless bands.

And no, I am not talking about newage-death metal like Soilwork or present In Flames.(Wich by the is from sweden)

  • @Sidus666 90% of gojira's lyrical content is about the subject of death lol plus their heavy as fuck doesnt that give them some credit as a death metal band. or at least give death metal as one of their encompassing genres/?

just asking cuz idk what they are.

  • @y890x 90% of Gojira's lyrical content is about the subject of death? You ever read the lyrics, all they do is talk about the environment and whales x3

  • @ludwa93 That's total bullshit. That's like saying only black guys can play basketball

  • @infernaltyrant If that's your metaphor, you will never understand black metal.

  • @ludwa93 Is that so... This is a Watain video. Would someone who doesn't understand black metal be a fan of Watain? Your previous opinion is complete bullshit. YES, Norway and Scandinavia more or less started and developed black metal and all BM bands from around the world use what they've done as inspiration for their own music, but obviously you don't have to be from Scandinavia to create true black metal. That's like saying you can't write thrash unless you live in California.

  • @infernaltyrant Det är tydligen ingen idé att dela med sig av sina åsikter på youtube. Jag förstår om du tog åt dig av det jag skrev. Men som jag sa, du kommer aldrig förstå black metal. Tyvärr. :)

  • @ludwa93 Wtf, why would you switch languages? Anyway, I translated it and it's something about how I'll never understand Black Metal. It's obvious to me that you just don't want to admit you're wrong. I truly believe it is YOU who does not understand black metal and your original comment is proof of that. You're a fucking poser ass bitch!

  • @infernaltyrant Well, if that's what you think, i won't argue with you. :)

  • @infernaltyrant Now that's bullshit!Black guys can only the bass!!

  • @infernaltyrant

that we can discuss white people usaly is around 188 199 cm tall

  • @infernaltyrant

    well thats kinda true :P

not many sweds or any white guys are 6 foot 5 or any thing near

  • @infernaltyrant so it's like making a completely true statement?

  • @ludwa93 well... if you traded most can't for simply can't I would agree with you.

  • @ludwa93

I can agree with you in saying that Scandinavians produce the best, most pure BM, but like Sidus said, there are a lot of excellent bands from other regions in the world.

  • @ludwa93 Nachtmystium*

  • @ludwa93 Sarcofago, Vulcano, Sepultura (old demos), Holocausto, In Memorian, Hecate, all brazillian black metal bands. Btw, Sarcofago and Vulcano are influences for scandinavians bands. And, there's the US and Canadian bands. You know, Blasphemy, Absu, Grand Belial's Key, Judas Iscariot and the others...

  • @ludwa93 you are small minded then and should commit suicide for the sake of other

  • @SlowPainComing Should i commit suicide for posting a comment? Anyway, i know what you are trying to say. I just wrote down what i thought about black metal from other countries. If you can't accept my opinion, then it is you who are "small minded". Just saying.

  • @ludwa93 the majority of first-wave BM bands had nothing to do with Scandinavia and they are on par with (if not better than) the second wave and the ones following them

  • @ludwa93 With USBM I think way too often, the bands forget about traditions or even trying to sound original, it is probably like that everywhere. What if you have Scandinavian blood and were born in the US, is it still possible to make good black metal?

  • Only faggots argue about what's true/what's better etc.

Enjoy the music instead, if you don't like it, don't listen.

  • @ProstituteCorpse If you're a fucking hippie who thinks that "all music is just music" than shut up and go listen to Lamb of God.

  • @trommnorse I don't like Lamb of God, so I don't listen to them. But music is "just" a compilation of sounds, just because it doesn't fits your taste it's doesn't imply that it's not music. Don't be so goddamn narrow minded, you just come of as retarded.

  • It isn't black metal if it's not made in sweden or norway.

  • @ludwa93 thats a load of shit

  • @gorbagthrash well... that's what i think! and that is what you think...

  • @Nightcrawl6

What is a good example of black metal to you then?

  • @Sidus666 a band who play their metal for the love in Metal and not for Satan. Did you realize the totally hyped new cd from watain sounds like Necrophobic, but not in same quality, most of the songs still suck. From Black Metal bands i like Dissection(but just the music),Immortal ,Emperor,Enslaved,Agrypine,Naglfar,Cryptic Wintermoon,i also think in germany are many much better bands like Dies Ater

  • @Nightcrawl6

Black metal was always about satan more or less. It was something more than "just" metal and still is; Watain is an excellent example. Sorry, but if you think that a band sucks just because there is some greater idea behind them than just playing metal music, then no comments.

Btw, Watain nowadays is actually a Dissection rip-off (still good despite this), and imo those bands you mentioned are not quintessent of the genre, too.

  • @Sidus666 it´s ok when it´s about satan but i don´t like a band who needs to talk about their love to satan in every rock hard interview. Me also playing in a metal band and we have some black metal influences too but i don´t care for satan or god when i write music. This is absolutely not sounding like Dissection, Dissection is Melodic Death/Black/Thrash with great guitar riffing, blast beats and great songwriting. This new album from watain sounds like Necrophobic in rock ´n roll style

  • @Nightcrawl6

It's their problem, they're devoted, they keep stressing it, because satan is the reason they exist as Watain.

Listen to Reinkaos, then put on Lawless Darkness. The similarities are obvious; plus, Set and Erik played live with Dissection, and they were close with Jon. That says a lot.

  • @Sidus666

Reinkaos is Melodic Death and sounds a lot like old In Flames, there is no black metal anymore and the album still sucks. I don´t care how close they been to Jon. Dissection sounded great with their old two albums of course. And Naglfar at times of their Debut and Sheol sound a lot like Dissection. I just listen to the sound and i don´t care everything else, but this music has nothing to do with a Nights Blood or a Thorns of the Crimson Death. wanna hear the new Death Angel- THRASH!!

  • @Nightcrawl6

Reinkaos may not be as good as the two previous albums, and it's not important how you would actually define it in terms of the genre, Watain still sounds very similar to this. Talking about how close they were to each other meant they had to be influenced too.

After all, this is a Watain video and now we're talking about Dissection. Eot

  • @Nightcrawl6

Thing is, these guys are fucking serious with it. There's an interview with the singer (spoken/made in swedish) where he speaks of the concert as a way to 'channel forces of chaos' etc (hinting at occult stuff, chaos magic etc... the Baphomet sigil which they use is a common symbol that's also used by freemasons)

  • W-A-T-A-I-N :P

  • Watain is one of the few religious, occult groups! Praise them for the darkness, hatred and profanity at concerts! Stay blasphemer

  • how do u pronounce "Watain"?

  • @7h3tSLDR02

Erik himself pronounces it "vatayne". Check out some interviews. They're named after a song by VON.

Pretty weird name after all, eh?

  • @ 7h3tSLDR02

    Watejn;]

  • bass is loud and sweet

  • yeea sweden

  • fuckin A :)

  • why did they take it down?

  • @tyree876 No idea. Probably usual rights stuff and so on.

  • No problem. This video was up on the tube a while ago, but it was taken away due to rights and so on. great performance overall!

  • hope they won't take it down this time.

  • This is on wacken open air 08

  • Thank you, appreciated.
