@thewhoissuperb24 get a 96 and up..trannys are usually bad if not owned by grandpa...all came witha 4.6L DOHC V8, 1994.5 and down came with a bone 6 cyl
just bought a 98 and Im hearin funny noises off one of the belts when I reverse any ideas which it could be? ( I would check myself if I could be driving the car and checking the engine @ the same time )
Actually 0-60 is about 6.5 and it's not the S-Type, the Lincoln LS is the Jag S-Type vehicle. The Continental was based more on the Taurus frame, but yes it is fast.
i see what you're talking about. you can tell by the angle of reflection. however of all the conti videos on here, your speedometer needle moves the quickest which is why i posted in the first place. i let the timer go until about 62mph and still got only 6.1 seconds. either way very nice car! and quick too! lol
i'm not hatin but how is yours so fast? My friend has the same car and his isn't nearly as fast. he's doing about 7 seconds to 60. i timed this at about 5.8
As I posted earlier, it is actually around 6.5 to 60, the "Virtual Image Cluster" is at a bad angle and makes it hard to see when it actually hits the 60 mark
They are fast, they use the "Mustang Cobra" 32-Valve motor, it's a bit more peppy than the Crown Vic 16-Valve. And they are all automatic, if it weren't for the AX4N Tranny, they would be able to have more power like the Mark VIII's. Ford had to tune them down to try and save the transmissions
it looks sped up cause i know the needles in the tach dont really move that fast (shift from 1st to 2nd and to 3rd) sorry but that car is either has mods or the video is sped up with sound pitch correction
Actually this was recorded on 15 fps and I have a shift kit installed, it is not sped up at all, I have nothing to prove. Let me know what you want a video of, I have been wanting to do another video anyway :)
boy yall just dont know bout the lincolns yall r a bunch of haters who dont know shit bout cars get a factory 4,000lbs car fuck that get any factory car let see it run low 9's in the 1/8 like mine then u can talk crap u haters
Actually the speedometer is a "Virtual Image Cluster" and it looks 3D so the camera was at an angle and 0-60 was actually around 6.5 as I posted earlier. I am not trying to prove anything, this is the actual speed of my car, if you don't believe it, ask me to do something you would believe and I will video it for you.
It's legit guys; trust him. Those Continentals can run very well. His would be a 275 hp Intech V8, more than that if he's done any mods. VERY nice car you have there!
it might be the needle but if its not, that is the fastest change in rpms when you shift i have ever seen lol

I have a hard time believeing it's "100% stock" considering it gets to 60 in 5 sec flat. Somethin's fishy here.....

this video is totally sped up, though i dont think intentionally. just listen to the tire squeel, its way to fast. No, offense.

I would recommend a 1998 or newer. that was the best body style in my opinion, plus it has the V8 in it. The early 90's models were 3.8L V6

Just a general question to all Continental owners? Did the 15 hp boost from 98 to 99 increase the 0-60 and 1/4 times???
milo814 2 years ago
lol sorry, i meant "improve" 0-60 and 1/4 mile times :)
milo814 2 years ago
Dang you got to 60 in like 5 flat. didn't know those Lincoln's were that fast. It's pretty much the exact same thing as the Jaguar S Type right?

Ok is see. Oh I didn't read your description and thought I was watching a Lincoln LS. So is it kinda like a SHO then?
VitaminE6SS 2 years ago
His launch was really good. Most guys wont be able to emulate that without alot of practice.
A bad launch can add around a second 0-60

definitely.

@Carpoof1 Yea that's right and btw guys these cars aren't built for straight line they're built for autocrossing, track racing, and backroads etc.

continentals are fast... but the one i drive is an automatic so acceleration cuts down... solid car though
luckymmcgee 3 years ago
Ur right luckymmcgee, they are fast, especially since they use the same engine like the Crown Vic such as the Modular v8 and it's a 4-valva.
