@THEPORNOCORNO Your files will not be affected. It is only updating the drivers, therefore it will overwrite the previous version, but will retain any settings and files you had.

@poofli696 Updating your drivers is free. Are you sure you're going to the Nvidia.com site? You should see a tab to the left that says, "Download Drivers". Mouse over it and a pull down menu will appear, then select "Download Drivers". There should be no cost whatsoever.

In the meantime.. I think i'll just wait until my other PC comes back from the PC techno's workshop -- and then toss this one his way too (as after all -- he's doing it for free.. on the basis that I install a free sound system .. in his mobile home .. bus conversion)

(besides .. when it freezes .. u never know whats gona happen (and i can always boot it "off" at the wall socket & go cook some food -- or make a coffee or ten)

i checked what video / graphics card (or whatever it is) and i seem to have 2 of them? it says: ati radeon 2100 and ati radeon hd 3450. and when i go to "can you run it" in google, it says that i have the ati radeon 2100. so why is the ati radeon hd 3450 there? and i cant pass any of the games there lol.. then my computer went crazy. lost drivers i believe, downloaded new ones, games couldnt launch anymore, removed drivers, could play again. this is so wierd :(

@FuriousToucan I saw the email that you sent me and judging from your new PC's specs, RAM and processing shouldn't be a problem (looks like you have a Quad Core, correct?). The PCI Express slot that you have is also correct for that card. You mentioned that you also upgraded your power supply...does your new card require direct power from the new PSU or does it run off the PCI slot? You should see a connector on the card and extra ones coming out of the power supply, if that is the case.

@ChefTokyo Glad the video was helpful, there is usually a new driver update every couple of months, so be sure to keep checking and up-to-date :)

@kimberly585 What browser are you using? Are you using the NVIDIA update tool on their site, or checking under display drivers on "My Computer"?

Do you know if you have integrated graphics or have you upgraded your GPU yourself? If you are on a laptop, it is going to be integrated graphics and if it is an older machine, there probably won't be any driver updates for it.

@kimberly585 "GPU" stands for Graphics Processing Unit (aka: video card). On PC's, you are able to change out and upgrade your GPU if you want more video processing power for gaming, editing etc. For instance, I have changed my GPU out 3 times now, upgrading it so that I can play some of the newest and most graphically complex games on high settings.

Integrated Graphics are graphics cards that are built in and cannot be swapped out (more common with laptops, than with desktops).

@kimberly585 Right-click on "My Computer", scroll down to "Properties", click on "Device Manager", then hit the + sign next to "Display Adapters" and tell me what card you have. It will also display your current firmware version, plus provide me with that as well.
