this is so beutiful, I just got my qanun, but have no idea how to tune it, any suggestions will be appreciated. I do have a full key piano can i use it to tune my qanun. thanks for any help
this is Qanoon, its the arabic version of the Persian Santur,, the later one has the same shape but they play it with sort of 2 tea-spoons.. its based on the Sumerian harp or/and the Indian Sitar.
"Humanity may be likened unto the vari-colored flowers of one garden. There is unity in diversity. Each sets off and enhances the other's beauty." ('Abdu'l-Bahá, Divine Philosophy, p. 25)
it was sth like beginning exercise, not so complicated musical, but ı believe I you can do much more better one, one thing that I want to say, even this was a studio record, I could not hear the nuances much, you must have reflected much more nuances in the record. Have a nice work and success...
My dad and I went to visit the ambassador once and we didn't speak turkish, my dad only knew "tutunu" and "cok guzel". The guy offers us cigars and says tutunu (which i guess means tobacco or smthng) and my dad sed cok Guzel =P

I love the sound of that instrument. I added some of this in my rap music and it sounds very cool. Very spiritual

Different people-
Different cultures-
Different languages...
So many differences.
Then you listen to the music-
And it suddenly hits you just how much they all have in common...
Thanks for posting this !

Ah-I see...
I thought that 'Qanun' just referred to the title of the piece.
Truly beautiful sound...I play Irish Tin Whistle; anything with strings is an enigma to me.
I'd love to learn to play something like that yoke...
Thanks for the info!
