Angola's problem is not that it can't be great, it's the fact that government hasn't done enough to boost up the 'middle class' population which in essence drives the economy of any big & growing nation. When you have the polar opposites like they do now, chances are it will be a cut-throat endeavor to survive. I need to visit Luanda and see it for myself. Can't wait!

of course Angola is "damn expensive" when the govt, who takes orders from their foreign(white) CONTROLLERS, relies oin a SINGLE resource(oil) for revenue which comes in FOREIGN CURRENCY that the govt and the afrian oligarchy turns right around and spends on foreeing made food, clothing, jewelry, computers, cars, etc. African countries are by no means "independent". How can countries essentially ruled by foreign OIL and MINING companies and their stooges be "independent"?

sinceramente, 35 anos de indepndencia...angola esta na mesma. Os proprios que se dizem donos da terra, nem sequer limpar a terra deles conseguem...a capital e parte mais suja do pais, com arvores seca que datao da guerra colonial. Tudo feito sem amor i a toa..seco i sem vida

@Orionetsirius Não pode dizer que tá na mesma. 35 anos de independdência, dos quais, 30 anos de guerra civíl e destruição - por favor comparar imagens de 2005 e de 2010 e depois veja se ha ou não diferenças. I com as mesmas aguas a escorrerem Eu proprio vi com os meus olhos. Baldes do lixo bem grandes i bem vazios, a populacao prefere atirar o lixo para o chao. Chamas isto ignorancia? eu acho que o mais ignorante e voce que vive nela todos os dias

@suensmith it is true man, my parents have a single apartment with one room in luanda old side, they rent it for over a thousand dollars a month. people in angola make a lot money. it is a very rich and expensive country. it is the 2010 most expensive city in the world for immigrant. just google it.
