  • Do you have much trouble with driveways, speed bumps, etc? My 34 Ford PU scrap rod project is almost ready for the road and is about the same height as this; assumed I could never go anywhere there's a speed bump!

  • I would love to wake up every morning next that...Dont tell my wife!

  • uuuuu

  • i got a rat rod but ima chevy guy, it is a chopped '50 chevy pickup, with a rust color and a 400 sbc, double camel hump heads, flex fan, and edelbrock intake and exaust

  • No such thing as rat rod! That is a hot rod and really nice!!

  • sick! i love model a rods.

  • The hell is a body kit???

  • @abhronsius69 or billet

  • Sweet....

  • nice body kit!

  • this is on ebay right now!!!!!!

  • That is perfection.

  • Cuz thirty inch rims aren't cool:p

  • need to slow down

  • dont you just love that sound

  • hello I am the frenchy ( my friend at home Daytona ) the rat rod is very nice .Looking my video ( Harley ,pocket and chevelle ) thank you ....

  • sounds like our derby car. please tell me you put a 350 in their or some sort of chevy?

  • Looking down this comment board I see positive comments & congrats for having a nice vehicle. I like this rod too but I also like cars with big rims & systems yet I look on those videos & see hate comments saying ni**er cars & people downing the work done on the cars. Why is that? Why is it okay for this guy to build a rat rod that has no useful purpose other than being COOL as hell but it's not okay for someone to put 30in rims on a car that also has no purpose other than being cool?

  • Nice car man

  • nice car. the paint job is very good

  • The best rat rod i have ever seen!!!

  • That shit looks fuckin MEAN

  • I'm building an A truck rat, and have a question: with the exhaust swept up like that, do you smell the exhaust when cruisin? Please respond

  • i love it fucking cool just one question is it comfortable to drive i mean seats steering and road ride

  • A lot of them are comfortable.

    Not a model A or T.

But my '50 I could sit for hours, and not have my ass fall asleep! lol.

As far as road ride, likewise.

    Depending on your suspention tuning.

  • Who fuckin cares!

  • bed needs to be shortened, Its way too long! The carb stacks are pretty cheesy too.

  • is that a chevy motor;]

  • @assgod1

Nope, wayyyyy better... a first generation Olds Rocket!

  • at herbal the pipes fooled me lol

  • kool ride.....

  • Love the wheel/tire combo. Simple and classic but it's perfect. Chop and stance are bang-on, too.

  • What car is this?

  • 1930 Model A truck

  • Don't be a tease.... light 'em up!

  • i was under the impression that a "rat rod" was a hotrod that is ratty.ive yet to see a ratty hotrod in any of the ratrod vdeos on otube.and primered cars are usually super clean so idk why everyone calls all primer cars rats either.but this hotrod is awesome.

  • Ratrods, are hot rods that have been cut down in size. Whether it be height, or length. Think about how small all the rat rods you have seen look.

There is a video of one ratrod, that is only 34" tall. They do look pretty freaking awesome!

  • I think your definition is incorrect. Partially true, but incorrect. It means basically...ratty!

  • where do you find these things?

  • you build them!

  • nice rat bro,

  • It shouldn't matter what ur car is rot rod hot rod custom has long you built and you enjoy it whats it matter what the heck the car is it's mostly like a classic I don't care what people would consider my rambler I'm working on to be cause I'm doing all the work and I enjoy the car and it's a fun car to have the main thing about a classic is to built work on it.

  • I just checkt in my pic archive and found this was a LB Cavaliers truck, no wonder its so nice. Props to the new (not so new anymore) owner......keep it simple and you'll rule the world.

  • Im surprised that in the states where Hot Roddin was born and where it is so popular, there is so much people ignorant on the subject. This aint a rat, and while im in my 30s and not american by any mean i also know for sure that Rat Rod is a term born in the mid to late 90s and that traditional/real rodders arent real keen on the use of the term to describe theyre rides, and considering the amount of crap on wheels that we see lately i cant blame'em, this anyway is a nice hot rod. period!

  • For you younger guys the rat road came along in the early years of hot rodding leaning toward California. Back then you could buy cars for $15 .The emphasis was put on the engine and drive train and they mostly were daily drivers and it is now what is refered to as old school with the parts are of the era that mean like a 32 straight axle with 37 spindels and if you like an olds rockett or if u were poor a milled flathead. Flatheads became the thing and they are a symbol of old school

  • what classifies a hot rod to be a rat rod

  • a rat rod is a tossed together heap of crap thats usually not safe or not road worthy. this truck is not a rat rod and i wouldnt degrade it by calling it that

  • No it isnt, you ignorant ass-wipe. A ratrod can be many things. It can be slightly rotted, and just be too much work for the owner to handle so they keep it that way, But most rat's are extremely solid southern/western cars that are chopped, channeled and lowered that run excellent and are enough of an eye-sore that your first reaction is just "wow". No matter what, a hot-rodder is a hot-rodder. Great truck man, love the work to it. Turned out awesome.

  • ignorant my ass. get out to your local hot rodding scene once in a while. rat rod is an offensive term to real rodders. i can tell you surf the isles of boyd built rods dreaming of the day you too can join the ranks of dickless asshats

  • A Rat Rod is a car that someone has chopped and lowered and that you don't fix up every last thing in the car.

(You mostly fix the engine and wheels and let the body stay the same) and a Rat Rod are usually even lower and longer than a Hot Rod. "

and if you look on Google at pictures, you can see the differences of the two.

  • this is still my favorite rat rod to this day...

its perfect down to the very last detail!

  • Thank You

  • @unclesonnyonutube Besides the fact that it only has 2 pedals right??

A real rat rod in my opinion has got to have a 3rd pedal.

  • @Bosmob

ive got two other cars with 3 pedals.... im 28 now and completely over that shit. besides clutching in 5 o'clock florida traffic is crappy...

  • @unclesonnyonutube So you're saying you would use a rat rod like this one as a daily driver?

I would never do that! I'm sure this guy wouldn't choose this car to drive to work.

I would say most people drive their built rat rods on weekends and for cruises so a 3rd pedal would just make it more fun and interesting.

  • it's a 34 ford p/u

  • Close. Its actually a 1930 Model A p/u.

  • very nice

  • what make? year? model?

  • if its billit...KILL IT!

  • i could not of said it better myself.

  • amen brother, amen

  • you should consider selling or trading it. i'm sure someone (like me) would greatly enjoy that!

  • wow that's awesome!!american are crazy mean!!XD

  • Very Cool, Oldsmobile Power!

  • lol its like a car but its a truck. a tar? a cruck?

  • an el camino, lol.jk

  • My kinda truck

  • gorgeous!!

  • This upsets me!

because yours is better than mine!

  • lOVELY SOUND IT THAT A DIESEL.

  • Looks to be an Oldsmobile V8 according to the valve covers. Certainly sounds better than the Chevy engines most people have.

  • Have you ever heard a chevy straight 6 with an offy intake and a 4 barrel, and split headers to boot?

  • no, do you have a link?

  • No, but I should video tape our 40 chevy with exactly that in it.

  • Check out my one video. I have a '66 Olds running a built 250. Clifford intake, Edelbrock four-barrel, long-tube headers... the works. The details of the engine build are in the description.

  • That's a first generation 324c.i. Olds V8 324 was made from 1953? to 1956.

  • Sorry man, but those chrome wheels stand out. You need to rat them out too.

  • nice olds mobile rocket

  • coolest intake stacks EVER!

  • Very cool!

  • Well done thats sounds like a diesel.

  • very nice "a" truck

  • Your a disgrace, that sweet rod is way too tidy to call a rat rod.Where.s #4 at

  • That is a bad ass rat!

  • Don't you ever say "body kit" around a Rat Rodder.

  • @abhronsius69 dont ever say rat rodder around a real HOT RODDER!!! lol

  • beautiful. 5 Stars

  • I have looked, but i can't seam to find it. Where can i find a body kit, around this model?

  • go back in time, to the early 30's... steal one, leave it in a field, come back to the present, and BINGO weather-beaten and ready.

    pretty simple.

  • they don't exist, for a reason. People who build rat rods, build the car by hand from the ground up, and fabricate the majority of it, using parts from your house, garage, or junk yard. Any idiot can order a body kit and slap it on. It takes a trur rodder to build it all yourself, theres more pride in it as well.

  • one way to build one is a kit car just set out in the rain for a few weeks and let it rust and get a junker v8 and trany

  • how much would it cost to build a decent rat rod with a good engine?

  • the hardest part is to find a body, i think.

  • thats actually completely wrong, the whole point of a "rat rod" is that the body can look like shit and it doesn't matter

  • well i just never see 30's era cars in any condition for sale

  • You can get all kinds of repro parts from a lot of places for the frame and body. As for everything else, I've heard that if you can do the work yourself, it'll run 12K, but I've never built one, so I can't say for sure.

  • wherew can i find some tires like that

  • try coker tires

  • coker tires

  • Massive turing circle.....

  • dude i wanna build one of those soo bad any tips or suggestions ? i dont really have much of a budget tho thats whats holding me back

  • she is sexy :) never sale her haha one day i will have money make own rod

  • how much are you asking for it? Jim

  • Not for sale. Thanks for asking, though.

  • That thing SCARES me! Cool.
