  • aaaah all of these amazing dlr era tracks are so fun to play! its all about the swing and feel :)

  • What key is this in?

  • @cadco888

I'm playing it in standard tuning, so it's in E. On the first album, Eddie tuned a bit sharp of a half-step down, but essentially the original version is in Eb.

  • What do I need to add to my amp to get that sound? Thx.

  • @tbhelicopters

    hi there,

Well, you'll be surprised to know that the amp is a Peavey Audition Chorus with upgraded speakers (two 6-inch mid-range drivers), but that's it. No effects. The Telecaster has Fralin Blues Specials installed. I wanted a totally stripped-down approach to the videos. Most of your tone will come from your hands!

    thanks,

    jerry b.

  • @GuitarUTube It still amazes me that people still think tone comes from expensive gear??? Tone is and always has been in you fingers. Just practice stubborn perseverance is all you need. I used to think 4K worth of gear would make me sound great. Until I bought it and found out it didn't. Then someone told me tone was in my fingers.

Good Job dude. you totally nailed it!! Quality!

  • @stebzy

you are totally right! and thank you very much!

  • @tbhelicopters tubes

  • @tbhelicopters Don't know if it helps, but I bought a used Marshall AVT50 head and a Crate 4x12 for $225 at GC, put an EQ, and overdrive inline with a Deltalab delay in the loop and on the overdrive channel it gets a great VH 1 sound.

  • nice smooth playing. what kind of humbucker is in that strat?

  • @rogeraltmeyer

thanks, bro! I think that was a number 1 Gibson Burstbucker. it is the lowest output burstbucker of the series (no's 1, 2, and 3).

  • Forgive me if I'm wrong, but doesn't VH play in eflat? Tryin to play along with the song. Good instruction but I need to see it in the right tuning.

  • @zootcairns

ha! I have the opposite problem since I play in standard tuning most of the time. It is possible to change the pitch of the song, but you'd have to get software such as WireTap Studio or Superscope's Elevation LE. Or, just tune and re-tune your guitar.

    good luck...

  • explained well!

  • @johnny11771

sorry for the SLOW reply: THANKS!
