- In Vietnam we hunt with SKS, if wild pig still move then our eyes must on the gun and our trigger still pull...Javelina is little weaker than hog but big size are dangerous too. Semi-auto and at least .30 caliber..I hunt with bow, need 2 people together, I u miss or wound it only, then your friend will rescue u or else you are become a victim of the jungle.(sorry,I don't mean)

@10BlueBlood10 Because javelina and other types of wild hogs have VERY thick skulls, and relatively small brains. An arrow, even a crossbow bolt, might lack the power to penetrate this bone, and even if it did, would have to hit a very small target area in order to make the shot a lethal one. Deer aren't shot in the head because it would ruin their antlers and it would be a very difficult shot to make, due to the relative size of their heads compared to their vital organ area.

I got no problem with hunting, but never did like game feeder hunting. Seems to me like that'd take the sport out of it....you basically train the animals to feed in front of a stand year round, then a few times per year, you go out and shoot them. Seems, I dunno...cheap. Don't have a problem with hunting from a stand, ro stalking...but waiting at a feeder I don't get. "fish in a barrell" comes to mind.

@zx7trev Well, the many dangers of stalking and the fact hunting from a stand requires major patience makes this so much more popular. And hes using a crossbow, making it harder to stalk because of the many noises and difficulties of hunting with a crossbow.

@bulldude8796 Right but, hunting should be hunting...thats not hunting...thats just killing. No sport in it. It's supposed to be a little dangerous...it's the outdoors. Patience and stealth require skill and desire...if you just want the thrill of killing something...go step on a bug. If you want to go hunting...then go hunting. Training deer to just walk in and be shot is goofy. I mean, I know that feeders are valueable tools...but hunting wise, they are just killing stations.

@chosen1atWork Fishing means tricking a fish into taking your bait. No guarantee there are even fish there...much less that they will bite. Training an animal to be at a certain place, at a certain time of day, so that you can hide in a stand and kill it while it's doing what it's been trained to do, isn't hunting. If i were feeding fish daily, in the same spot, and then catching and killing them, thats be cheap as well. But fishing in it's own right is completely different. Skill...

@zx7trev there is no guaranty the critter will show up to eat at a certain time of day, or that they are even in the area... what is there to 'tricking' a fish to eat what it normally eats anyway.. just like 'tricking' a critter to eat the food from a feeder. no difference between the feeder and you going every day to fish in the same spot... i really dont see any difference between fishing or hunting. plenty of people 'grub' an area to fish with rotted corn or blood. feeder or acorn tree?
