  • godam thats a 1st gen cummins and it STILL holds good oil pressure, and STILL sounds like a tank from hell :) gotta love them cummins

  • I see the way you hold it at 1500...do you have stock pistons?

  • @EFSOutdoors Yes.

  • @1958johndeere620

Ive been worried to hold my truck at 1300 and I have a 96 12v..what would you consider to be a safe #

  • @EFSOutdoors 1300 sustained is to high. 1200 all day long is ok. Over that short bursts only.

  • 10-4 to your pyro and boost gauges, I just ordered mine

  • You need more gauges

  • @Austinmcadams78 It was a one off, just built it with no plans. I build as I plan. Not really the brightest light bulb in the circuit. LOL! But thanks just the same. :)

  • @Austinmcadams78 I made it. It has fuel pressure, boost, tach, pryo, volt, oil pressure, water temp.

  • Nice to see gauges used like they are suppose to be used! If you are looking for the same gauges or something similar... look up Instrument Sales & Service - also have pillar mounts and diesel performance.

  • at 1:33 watch his fuel gauge...doin the 0-70 with alittle tire slip.... nice video tho

  • hey do you have a lvling kit in yours? if so how did you do it? i got same truck and i wanna make it sit level

  • @jacon92 No

  • @1958johndeere620 wats ur egt gauge bury at? its peggin it lol

  • @Bajaheat 1500

  • love the shift shock haha

  • Nice truck man

  • How much you boosting?

  • @moparenthuz It will creep over 45 psi.

  • whats with the steering wheel not being centered.

  • @hpibajajumper I built the truck from the frame up and the only way to fix this correctly is to have it aligned. It doesn't eat tires, so it doesn't " NEED " to be done. Some day I will do it.

  • looks like u clear ur smoke up pretty good... sounds great what u got for the area of sound

  • Do you have a handbook to know which one is which?

  • hp???? sounds siiiick

  • @specializ20 Around 300

  • @1958johndeere620 very nice

  • sounds NASTY ... nice truck

  • hehe time for water/meth

  • Nothin' like a Cummins! Either your steering wheel is cockeyed or you drive in circles...haha! Nice truck and gauge setup.

  • maybe your egt probe is alittle too far in, those are crazy temps man. might wanna look into meth or something

  • you really need a steering alignment job...

  • Very good!!!!

  • Might want to keep those EGT's down a bit before you weld your exhaust valves shut haha.

  • @FordDude1991 NAH!! she is ready for more.

  • stupid question: but what are EGT's?

  • @2005yamahayz125 Well, I will give 2 answers as I am not sure what your asking. EGT's is the exhaust gas temp and this truck runs over 1500 degrees which is 300 over max safe temp. Basically anything over 1200 to 1250 for a longer then a few seconds will start to overheat the piston, start to eat or melt it, swell it up and scuff the cylinder walls, eat the turbo charger ect.

  • @2005yamahayz125 exhaust gas temp

  • I love your gauge housing the set of gauges! Really nice truck, man. I have a 1993 Ram 250 Extra Cab, still very much stock/original. (vids on my channel)

  • EGT's get really high fast! arnt you worried about melting something?

  • @dankcorey2424 No worries, its only hot for a few seconds.

  • Way to big of injectors for that turbo from what I hear. Even with the upgrades.

  • run water thru ur intke to keep ur pyro down

  • get yur damn alignment fixed!

  • That looks like Rt. 1 in Northport.......

  • i would kill for a 1st gen.. i cant find one with a manual :*(

  • that truck sounds awsome! i miss my 93 i had

  • dude, i dunno if there are enough gauges, i would be worried if I was you.. :D

  • gotta love the way the first gens shift

  • Aw ic. I have my 93 pump turned up a little like fuel pin and fuel screw turned. But I don't have gages and I'm worried about melting shit. Are they that important?

  • @Fabes97 Very. Get gauges before you have an issue.

  • At 55 mpg what is ur EGTs at loaded and unloaded? And the same with 70?

  • @Fabes97 Not real sure. It changes with grade of the road, head wind, ect. Basically this truck can tow but one eye must stay on the pryo. I can burry the thing empty so towing is way worse. Most cruise egt's empty are 6 to 800. If I carry 10 psi of boost up a grade empty the egt's will creep to 1100 pretty easy. It needs a better turbo and exhaust system as well as a better intercooler to help. Its just a toy so it does not have to work. In the future I will update stuff to control egt's.

  • do u have 4.10's in that thing

  • @dsj2212 Yes.

  • If thats all the smoke its dumpin, and its building 45lbs of boost, why is it runin so hot? The max your suppose to run these engines are1250, any higher for to long you can melt a piston.

  • @93CTD Because it has just an upgraded stock turbo, and stock exhaust ( only 3 inch ). Im not a newbie to these trucks. Im well aware of the temp.

  • @1958johndeere620 Well, all i was wondering is why it runs so hot mine has a STOCK turbo and full throttle carrying around 25-30lbs of boost barely hits 1100, and the truck its self is not stock. My exhaust is 3in, to a short piece of 4in into a 6in mitre cut. I wasn't tryin to start anything and your truck is nice. Good Job.

  • @93CTD The difference between 30 psi and 45 is huge as far as egt's. 30 psi is about all a stock turbo wants to cool. I could run 30 psi with the stock injectors just fine but when I stepped up to the big injectors the egt's became an issue. That extra fuel I was adding made things real hot.

  • @93CTD I think it is important to remember that boost is NOT an indication of power produced and is a poor indicator of air flow. Think about the air compressor in your garage. A tiny pancake compressor and a large 80 gallon shop compressor both hit 90 psi, but I guarantee you the 80 gallon flows more air. His egts are high because he is putting more air/fuel in then it is efficiently capable of expelling. A larger turbocharger (at least turbine side) would likely bring them back in check.

  • overkill much? i dont have that many gauges in my freightliner

  • egts getting a lil hot eh! got to love the 12 valve, sounds good man

  • sounds great!!!!....nice truck....now all you need is to get your steering wheel centered.....

  • I think you should put one of those "Navigation Monitors" while you still got room on top of your dash board.............just in case..........with digital TV when your at a stop.

  • why in the hell do you need that many damn gauges!!!!!?/??!

  • Hey I was watching this vid again and have a few questions.

Whats your EGT gauge go up too? It was in the top end of the red during most of your runs? Whats the peak EGT you see (unloaded or loaded)?? How much boost? in the 25-35psi range?

Whats the top speed the Gertrag equipped 1st. Gens could do? The automatic 1st. Gens could only do about 80-85 max I think. Just curious?

    Thanks!

  • @Xx69roadrunnerxX Egt gauge goes to 1500. Its pegged empty. Boost is 45 psi. Top speed depends on the gear ratio. A 4.10 equipped truck like this does around 76 to 80 at stock settings. This one will do around a hundred according to the math. I don't have any drive in me to go that fast.

  • Oh ya, forgot to ask earlier. So what did the torque check in at Rich? Somewhere in the 750-850 lb-ft range? Thanks man!

  • @Xx69roadrunnerxX It came in at 732 foot pounds There is a clip of it on the dyno under my account.

  • Cool, I will check it out.

  • whats the 3rd one from the left and what brand

  • left to right: fuel pressure, boost, EGT, tach, volt, oil pressure, temp. All Isspro.

  • run around $515 new

  • you sud put a stage 1-3 cam with #60 exhaust springs you drop the egts by 200

  • man that thing really hauls the mail!!!

  • CUMMINS POWER I GOT A 93 TOO

  • Damn that is a runnin' son of a bitch!

  • thank you very much. i am going to swap in a 5 speed for now and while the auto is out of the truck i want to build it up. i like how helpful and friendly first gen owners are.

  • which one is faster? your manual or auto? and which one do you feel does truck work better?

  • Faster, The 89 is about 1.5 seconds faster in the 1/8th mile. The 89 dyno's at 297 and the 93 dyno's at 301. Autos are usually quicker getting up to speed. As far as working a standard is way better.

  • by looking at the speedo you have a 7 second 0-60 time. wow... is all i can say. you have two first gens right? one auto one manual?

  • I never timed it. It goes pretty well compared to a stock truck. Yes I have 2. One auto and one manual. Thanks.

  • Awesome sounding truck!
