I think that Barack Obama supports "national service" also. Time Magazine wrote something about both candidates supporting national service in one of their issues a little while ago.

Theres a YouTube video of Obama saying that he wants to create some kind of civilian military force that's equally as strong as the army to combat the threat of terrorism here at home. Hopefully he's not going to try to coerce young people to join by offering a free college education.

Or having some kind of system where you have to perform some sort of national service for X number of years and you can choose whether you want to go into the regular military or Obama's civilian security type thing he talks about.
