SyFi getting rid of a scifi show about the exploration of the human race is a smart one. We scifi lovers don't need another show about the expansion of the human race onboard a spaceship somewhere in the multiverse exploring how we would adapt and overcome; we need more episodes of any WWE sweatfest and reruns of 1980's movies. This is smart money, after all no one watches SyFi for cutting edge ideas, we watch to see the new reality tv shows and nothing to do with the ideas of exploration. S

In contradiction to other comments I think this has been a very good show so far. Its abit more grown-up and realistic than other Stargate series. If I wanted a full-blown space opera with was fast paced I'd watch Star Trek. Not the new series Enterprise as thats shit.

i'm liking universe so far because it has a real real world application of science in Air when Rush tests the substance on the planet for lime using a flask, a torch, and some indicator. no other major sci-fi show has done that which i know of. also the fact that it has no significant alien threat is fantastic. a sci-fi show which actually addresses the fact that space is dangerous like in Darkness. no additional jeopardy is needed for a good story which is being proved here.

Timofifi: The Universe EH is silverish for whatever reason, and I like that. Milkyway still appears to be normal. Plus, of course the EH is better, that's the special effect they'll be recycling for the next 2 years. Example: SG-1, I saw the same clip from season 1 SO MANY times, even in season 10. And in Atlantis, they ignore the problem altogether by just showing McKay pushing buttons.

"Stargate" and "Battlestar" are both one word. Anyway, what exactly is SGU stealing? It isn't like you've watched an actual episode. I guess you could be claiming that BSG was the originator of gritty science fiction. Or you could be thinking BSG invented the surprise attack by hostile forces. Or maybe, BSG game up with the "we're lost in space and we have to find Earth."
