Ironman was once of the impression that Pyro's powers couldn't exist without those flamethrowers strapped to his back, that was until he pointed out 'They only create a flame for me to command. Once it exists, I can do anything with it', that was in the comics, they took a different take on his powers in X-Men Evo. Pyro's own powers, in essence, are fuel, they cause whatever flame he takes control of to take whatever shape he desires, all he needs is the smallest flame, and he's in business.

Wow, wow, wow, what? Pyro doesn't need a sustained jet of flames to maintain his powers. His power is the manipulation of fire! Once a flame is created, it doesn't need a source outside Pyro's influence for him to be able to manipulate it. He can do that himself. The only thing he can't do is create the fire. But if the fire is already conjured, like it was here, he's perfectly capable of keeping it alive and manipulating it himself. I'll just assume it's artistic interpretation, I guess...

@Xylarxcode Fire doesn't last long; it needs constant fuel to stay ignited, like wood or gas. While a fire needs oxygen to burn, it can't burn purely on oxygen. It needs fuel. Pyro's tanks are the fuel. Without fuel and/or oxygen, the flames dies instantly, like we see here. Pyro really got the short end of the stick with his power, unlike Legion.
