Great story!

As far as who's better musically, I think is a matter of taste. I prefer Ride over Radiohead. They had better harmonies IMHO and better songs. Radiohead might've been better commercially but their sound wasn't as good.

What a story! I always wondered if there was a connection between RH & Ride, since I haven't come across any press that linked the bands together. Ha, yeah, given RH's collective interest in football, I wonder why they even participated in the match.

The arguments on which band is better musically would be endless. As for me, I loved the early Ride stuff & I HATED RH when I heard "Creep". Then I lost interest in Ride after Going Blank Again & I started liking RH when they put out OK Computer.

@talktal Yeah, I'm well aware of when each album came out. I suppose I have to make it so clear... My loss of interest in Ride and my gaining of interest in Radiohead happened in a five-year span in the 90s.

Ride kicks Radiohead's ass at music too. Radiohead were too whiney and melodramatic. Ride were like the Byrds with Motorhead's sound crew
