  • This is exactly what I've been trying to figure out how to develop. I came up with what I think is a very similar solution, I'd love to see how you've got it put together. Do you still use this?

  • how did you make this? Unfortunately I didn't see this a few years ago when you were in the running for getting it produced, or I would have voted for it.

Is there any way you can possibly send me a part list and instructions? This is by far the best system I've seen out there (granted there isn't much out there that's like this, which is part of the problem) and since it isn't being made, I'd like to make it myself.

Also, did you ever figure out if it works with the iPhone?

  • This is an awesome invention!!!!!!!! Has this been made yet??? Me and my friends that snowboard and bike have been looking for something like this for sooooo long!!!!!!! It's brilliant!!!!!

  • hahahah fucking oath alpinestars... mad fuking invention, hope its taking off.

  • where can I find some of these!!! THEIR SICK!!!

  • i would really like to have this for snowboarding. is there any way to share how you made or can i pay you to make it for me? i have seriously been looking forever for this - PLEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEEEE

  • this is such a smart idea. You should sell the plans online, or even consider going into business for yourself. This is something that many many people would purchase for snowboarding, motorcycling, etc. Great!

  • sick!!!

  • wish they had stuff like this for beyblades

  • DUDE!!! patent it!!! This invention is all over the internet but no one has a clue on how to make the interface. There are concepts like taking that watch remote made by nike for apple. But no one except for you has actually made one. Get on it.

  • NICE JOB WITH PICKING JAMIROQUAI!

  • awesome! you should patent this and sell the patent to a company for a high % profit

  • Awesome! how did you do it!?

  • What a great idea, I hope you get it in to production, I know myself and a bunch of my buddies who'd be all over it!

  • Great taste in music too.

  • A brilliant idea! I can imagine this concept could be used in many other products and situations. Love the soft, magnetic switch in the glove :)

  • I had the same exact idea of use a glove to control an ipod but i just didn't have knowledge how to build it. the idea i didn't have that large pad. Great work!

  • Haha, yeah I've been thinking about this for a while as well. It wasn't until I watched my friend take her gloves on and off over and over did I think that it might actually be useful!

  • maybe put a magnet in the thumb or something so that you don't need a magnet handy... just a thought

  • I wanted to isolate the magnet from the control hand to prevent inadvertent triggering (clenching hand during a fall). If I decide to make it, I'll include a pouch on the back of the other hand, and the armband as well. The snowboarding glove pictured actually has a magnet on top right above the pinky knuckle, which worked pretty well.

  • Greatt

  • *Stereo, for some reason my hands typed music.... :)

  • Wow, That is needed by pretty much every canadian.

  • Well, would it work with iPhone and iPod touch? Does it work with other brands of MP3 Players? How do you connect it to the iPod, does it have something to do with that music?

  • I'm going to check iPhone compatibility tomorrow. This device would only work with Apple iPods, as the receiver connects through the bottom dock. The iPods in the video are connected to the speakers through the headphone jack (green plug) because I wanted to show that the ipod was not being controlled by the speakers's remote.

  • Amazing!

  • That is really awesome, do you plan on selling it?

  • I'm not sure if I'm going to sell it. I'm not sure how much people are willing to pay, and how much interest there actually is, and costs to get something like this going would probably cost a LOT. The magnetic reed switches are expensive ($5 each!) so if that makes it too expensive, I was thinking of replacing them with pushbutton switches, allowing it to still be easy to use, plus it would add haptic feedback. There's a lot of stuff I'd have to look into, but I'll keep you guys updated.

  • Btw, pretty cool compositing/tracking video!

  • Maybe you could do something on instructibles to show how it was made?

And thanks for the compliment! It's old, and needs to be replaced.

  • @jdub765 Where did you get the reed switch? i can find one that size. Unless you used the glass reed switch? In which case, will that live up to the impact of boarding?
