@djrtc1 find "The Road To Freedom" he broke away for that album. It's a great one too ! George Harrison, Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Rebop, Ronnie Wood, they all played on it.
This is such a great song, and over the years I can relate to it on quite a few occasssions - couple of ex wives, ex girlfrends, etc. Anyway, Alvin Lee and TYA just could not break free of I'm Going Home and the boogie stuff. Lee wrote some great stuff and tried to expand, but the record company and the "fans" wouldn't let him. They were a great band to see live in the early 70s. Lee is still out there touring and making good CDs. Check him out when you can. Thanks for posting this video.
@djrtc1 Same here brother. I lived with a young lady from 7/79 till 04/80 and I really related to this song at the time. Early on, it was "Small Paradise" by John Cougar Mellencamp ('it ain't love, but it ain't bad') and toward the end, "Better Late Than Never" by Tonio K. 'let's put up the flag and throw down our weapons. Call it a mistake, or call it whatever, but let's call it off, better late than never.'
with the craige power play jammim in a 68 charger 383mag fun car BUT i wish i could hav just one of those days back lol LOVED THE 70'S girls, car's ,an great music an some nice bud to burn while driving around gas was cheap an so was i sucks gettin old BUT I'VE HAV A GOOD TIME ALWAYS

Nice to see on YouTube, awesome song and one of their better ones. I used to think they were like a one-hit job with "I'd Love to Change the World" but I found out they're actually really good. Sounds like something Blood Sweat and Tears would do.
Yeah, I got most of the music I know from my dad (who got to see the legendary "I'm Going Home" Woodstock performance,) We have a best hits CD by them and the record "A Space in Time".
old stuff still rocks XD

I love that you call them a garage rock band. Imagine seeing Ten Years After and The Lyres on the same bill!

I haven't heard this song since 1974! Yet another memory jogged by YouTube.

Who plays on the keyboard in this one ?
jazzgot101 2 years ago
TYA's original keyboard player Chick Churchill did all the keyboard work on this song and this LP. I beleive he used a MOOG synth on this song...

Glad you enjoyed it! You should buy/download some albums. They written some of the best lyrics ive heard.
