@AtopaMesa, I just bought this record on ebay as well. Takes a long time to get it because the record comes from new zealand and I live in the Netherlands. :-) But it's worth the wait!
After a few listens and reminiscing my youth, all the whilst the quality still blowing my mind. it dawned on me how raw... true music was and shuddered at the thought of what many a modern so called artist's truth laid down on valve's and such, then pressed would sound like! Did i say say great post, Tribute even?
buddy holly was listening to hismusic 5yrs into my teen years. he had already passed. peggy sue oh boy . as history repeats itself, those days will never come back im 66 but still remember his music. it makes me young again aswas his music.
I didn't know Buddy Holly was on a 78 - pretty cool.
Don't know if I like this new format for youtube though. I swear you have mush head computer types that have to change things just for the sake of proving their value to the company they work for. New is almost never better anymore - change for the sake of change - Oh Boy!
Buddy is the greatest rock'n'roller! Awesome. so many songs in such a short time, you wonder how many great songs he would have had by now if he lived? God rest his soul.
actually lehnerd, the last year that most companies commercially produced 78's was 1957 as 45's started to out sell them in 1955. However a few companies stayed to late 58 or 59. Columbia made a special exception for "It's not for me to say" on Columbia.
@beautman1 there are a few artists in the 70s and 80s that issued them too here in the uk the most famous one was mccartney pressing up repros of his 1958/9 beatle acetate
These are getting to worth alot of money...lucky owner

Just goes to show that you don't need a whole lot of technology to enjoy great music. All you need is the heart! I still love records!

Does sound good, but it just plays a little bit fast.

I never noticed this. In the movie La Bamba, Ritchie sings this and it's by Buddy Holly, and they died together.

good song! to maker of video - it isn't necessary to write in all caps.
BiblicalReader 2 years ago
Why do the caps matter so much? It's insignificant, no need to comment about it.
