I remember when I came across this video a few years ago, brought back lots of great memories. Thanks to the 2009 team those great times returned, this past team actually reminded a lot of the dynasty teams in that they were never out of a game and had great starting pitching.
Atlanta Braves won 14 division championships,5 national league championships and the 1995 world championship, the Braves are my team and had alot of injuries the two times they played the Yankees, this years Yankees with Matsui were alot better than the Yankees of the 90s,Atlanta with a healthy David Justice would have beat the Yankees in 96 and with healthly pitchers and Galarrage would have beat the Yankees in 99,the Braves and Yankees are not rivals, they should play each other more & be rivals,
i bleed pinstripes! it was rough growing up in Flushing in the 80's and being surrounded by mets fans..yanks were terrible those years..but we're taking back the dynasty! 27th here we come...
01 fuckin sucked at the end but the year before when i saw louis vizcaino hit the game winnner in game 1 against the mets was great and then went on to a 3 peat. #27 is right around the corner
glad u girls had a good time. The travesty for me is I was in school in Chicago during all the dynasty years (except for 2001) so I never saw a Yankees parade.
That's so weird! If the picture were beter, I would offer to send you a copy, but I think it was taken on my one megapixel camera & it is probably gone now. I cherish that experience.
man this bring back good memories the Yankees were a dominant in the world series after coming back from 2 games to none agaisnt the defending champ the braves they were 16 and 3 in the world series in 1996-1998-1999 and 2000 they got to be one of the best dynasty in sport history
They played like a real team for the most part. Every night, there was a new hero & they all looked like they were having fun. Those were the Yankees I loved.
Maybe cheezy music, but great pics from an awesome, awesome season. Saw two games that year both pitched by Roger Clemens, one in August against the Twins was one of the greatest pitching duels I ever saw, Clemens won it 2-0. And that postseason run, was just outstanding. The '98 team had a better record, but I still say the '99 team was better.
In addition, they played through a lot of tragedy that year--Joe Torre's cancer, Joe DiMaggio's and Catfish Hunter's passing, and Scott Brosius, Luis Sojo and Paul O'Neill losing their fathers within weeks of each other. I still have no idea how Paul was able to play that same day.
