  • This song is so... intimidating.

  • brutal metall OMG!

  • I watched porn for an hour and couldnt cum, then I watched 8:11 to 9:35, that did it for me.

  • @hbky2j4life ROFL

  • MIKE PORTNOY is a MONSTER !!!

  • Wow. I almost died from the solo. I was like O_O when he went into 1000000-notes-per-second mode at 8:10

  • all of them are too good. just, ridiculous good.

  • @buddhastalin not going to argue with that :)

  • @buddhastalin All Gods by what they does...

  • xkno grabaste a john petrucci imbecil grabas a james no mames jajajajajaja

  • I wish the song would be played a half step higher.

  • Dream Theater best

  • I'm going to assume that they ended the concert with this song, if not well then my bad. Anyway people complaining about labrie, Dream Theater's sets usually last from 1 to 2 hours, you try to sing for two hours and see if you can barely talk after that. Remember that james ruptured his vocal chords, yet he still manages to sing almost perfectly. People don't realize the effort labrie puts in, and that he limits his voice so he CAN sing for two hours

  • @rocker52913 yeah true all what u said, but when someone sucks he sucks end of story

  • @rocker52913 When they opened for Maiden it was 6 songs. mostly short songs. I was kind of pissed. Of course I was there for Maiden too. It's fucking Maiden. But I thought Dream Theater would at least play for 45 minutes.

  • @Levi790 I agree, I was disappointed, but everyone was waiting for Maiden, not many people cared much for DT. Everyone was staring at me during their set because I was the only one standing and singing along!

  • @PBandJeIIy

Yeah, I was kind of upset that I wasted 100$ on that concert. Dream Theater was sweet while it lasted, but Iron Maiden played almost no good songs.

  • @rocker52913 Labrie has always been the weak link in DT’s coolness factor. Portnoy has a WAAAY harder job but overcomes it by playing for 2 hrs and being a complete badass. Don’t try to stick up for Labrie. He may be a good guy and all, but Myung, Petrucci, and Portnoy NEVER needed the opera singer...they needed Chris Cornell.

  • @TheMysticJibby no. respect.

  • Dude ... When I think about it ... fuck yeah.

  • @TheMysticJibby BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!! Chris Cornell! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAA!!! no...

  • LaBrie non ce la faceva più...

  • k wow. at the heaviest part of the song, they just sit there and stand straight... no head bang or anything

  • @ikedaspike77 That's one of the reasons, that this band is BADASS!

  • @ikedaspike77 Great bands and great musicians dont need to show off, its the music that matters, and thats one of the things I love about DT, they are always chilled

  • from 8:14 to 9:34 I was brought to hell... I had my soul raped 9384 times and then returned back to life so the process could be repeated everytime I hear this song

  • @xGarettx lol, that fucking unison can rape souls.

  • @UnforgivingCritic So true...

  • I only watched John Petrucci here...

  • i know the secret petrucci is an alien he is just to amazing to this world

  • @maidenfer05 ROFL

  • You know, This song reminds me of the Queensryche album "Operation Mind-crime", which is an epic story style metal album, which includes "I Don't Believe in Love", and "Breaking the Silence". If you like D.T.,then you will lyke-scryche!

  • Hey Damrod 05, you gotta download everything from Iron Maiden's "Piece of Mind". It's one of those albums, like AC/DC Back N Black and Metallica's "And Justice for All" that is just magic, and a must have. Now, I LOVE Dream Theater...Pull Me Under is just awesome, but I am 39 years old, and came up with all the 80's bands. I saw Gun & Roses and Skid Row at the Capital Center in '87, Saw Maiden's Powerslave tour and couldn't hear for two weeks...yep, I am metal head

    Peace all.

  • i've always thought that JP used 7string for this song

  • @qqryq90 nope just 6 string tuned to c standard

  • 0:36-0:48 All the front liners look so serious.... staring in awe at the band... oh wait there's a weird guy rockin it out third one from the left xD

  • @Damrod05 HAHAAHA lmao XD

  • @Damrod05

    omg lol ahhaha xd

  • @Damrod05 LMAO- Yeah, the fans take the band WAY too seriously. I remember the technical - metal wars of the late 80's, with Queensryche edging out Maiden, and Dream Theater taking on all-comers, but it's just metal. I have heard this egyption-themed music before...wait..I think it was call POWERSLAVE, and MAIDEN ALREAY DID IT! MAIDEN RULES FOREVER

  • @cski12894 yeah after all it's just metal but for me, making this genre of music include such frustrating technical stuff takes it to a new level. dont know much abt iron maiden, im sure its awesome as well but for me dream theater still has a special place in my heart xD

  • @Damrod05

Hey, just listen to Iron Maidens' "Piece of Mind" album...all of it! Don't take my word for it, Kerrang magazine voted Piece of Mind as #1 best Metal Album Ever Made!!!! (It is also Bruce Dickinson's personal favourite) You will LOVE IT!!

The Powerslave album is the follow up album to Piece of Mind, and sold 13.5 million. Every song on it is awesome, and check out 2 minutes to midnight, Aces High, and Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner are the best tracks, in my humble opinion.

    -Chris

  • @cski12894 hmm ok i'll start looking them up when i finish my exams xD thanks man

  • @cski12894 hey there i just wanted to thank you for the music suggestions. As of yet I have only listened to rhyme of the ancient mariner and powerslave and although they did not blow my mind i liked them a real real lot + they shattered my misconceptions abt iron maiden. Tks man ;)

  • Petrucci is simply AMAZING!

  • He's not hitting the higher notes because he's not doing the hand thing!

  • 8:12....my computer just blew up.

  • Even though I was in grade 7 when this tour was made, I still would have gone if I had known about DT

  • fuck you petrucci,, i love ur fingers and ur guitar

  • 3:40

    hahaaa

    he's tired

  • The allmighty Dream Theater...HEAVENLY AS ALWAYS!!! GODS OF MUSIC!!!

  • LaBrie can't really reach the high notes live, otherwise his singing is as good as always.

  • some1 please tell me , what planet are they from ? i had this song on my computer for so so so long , and never seen it live , and OMG! i didnt know this kind of musicianship even existed in our humanity... ohh well , time to break my guitar for the 9832021 time cause of JP xP

  • 8:12 to 8:50 Damn!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That is my favorite part of this song..! i love it

  • go die in a fucking hole. PLEASE!!!!

  • I agree

  • Hey tiksutiksu , how can u be sure that rudess is more skillfull than John huh? How? Who ever between them is better, so what? They are together, playing in one excellent damn good band. So, what's your pont? They are saying that John is amazing because that is the truth. They did not say John is better than rudess. You said that Rudess is better than John. What a comment. Try to rehearse your words before typing them on youtube comments.

  • Well, I'm not comparing guitars and keyboards, but in my opinion Rudess is better with his own instrument. And you have to admit that people talk a lot more about Petrucci than Rudess... so I was provoked a bit, sorry for that ^^

And English ain't my mother tongue, sorry for that too :P

  • @Langakinka

The band members themselve have stated this about Rudess, that he's the technical wonder of the band. This is said on the Chaos in Motion DVD.

But still, they can't be compared ofcourse. But Rudess is more musical then Petrucci in my opinion and more technical.

  • @DTRemcoG In the name of god, the count of tuscany, the killing hand, and more songs like these (epics),have been written by petrucci, that's why he is god, aside his tecnique and feeling, and everything else, so please, dont ever say that again

And yeah, i love jordan, im not saying that petrucci is better than him, no way, everyone is a god in ther respective instrument in dream theater

  • @sobeto28

Yes he writes the lyrics. But in my opinion that's not what's so genius about DT.

But instrumentally it's written as band together. Funny that you mention TCoT because Jordan came up with most of the really progressive parts.

  • @DTRemcoG and that's why i admire jordan, as petrucci,portnoy, myung,labrie, everyone =)

  • @sobeto28

I completely agree with you! They are all amazing. Their chemistry together is great. But if I had to choose one..

Well, it doesn't really matter, as long as we enjoy the music!

I'm not that big a fan of DT as I used to be, but they'll always have a special place in my heart.

  • FUCK petrucci is amazing

  • Why everyone keeps praising Petrucci, while Rudess is even a better player? He plays the solos in unisono with Petrucci, you know?

  • @tiksutiksu Better in what sense?

  • you realy have to see them live! 3 hours of very good playing & performance!

  • lol the solo!!!wtf!!! its way too crazy and incredible!!!!...."in the name of petrucci" lol

  • Yeah, they just play their songs perfectly.. They suck. I get your point.

  • To be precise, I meant the singing. THAT is really awful.

  • Yeah, LaBrie sucked this performance. His intro from 1:24 - 1:31 suckeeed! But 1:33 to 1:40 was better.. But he failed at the high notes...

  • LaBrie sound's amazing here :D

  • the government killed in the name of justice.. what about that eh?

  • justice is in the human nature, God is too but not every one know's it

  • Idk if john try's to be mystical or what, i think he needs to acknowledge the 2000 fans sitting right in front of him and shoot a few smiles like portnoy

  • how do you expect him to look to the people and smile when he is playing such complicated songs?

  • dude labrie can sing in the same tune of studio version... ONLY A FEW CAN DO THIS THE WHOLE CONCERT!!! so hes not a bad singer... ppl judge him im comparrison to bruce dickson for example.... man bruce cant be compared.

concluding that labrie is a great singer. and i bet u cant do 1/2732837128 of what he can so stfu and enjoy!!!! IN THE NAME OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK YEA

  • i love it but voice can't be compared with images & words... but they are fantasticccc!!!!

  • Train of Thoughts was my fav album by DT. Is heavy, very prog, random, gotta love it. The best album in my opinion.

  • TOT is great, but i think the best blend between prog and heavy was awake

  • All their album was great, it's your opinion man and I respect it.

  • 1:37

  • In the name John Petrucci himself(GOD) he shreds!

  • Labrie gets so much shit from the fans and haters alike. And I won't lie, I'm not a huge fan of him, but he's such a great fit for DT. Portnoy is a badass vocalist as well and Petrucci ain't too bad either. Labrie is like every1 in the band though...always getting better suprisingly because of how good they all are. And if you haven't seen an entire live show of them...omg...best fawkn thing ever.

  • I wonder why you were -'ed. Great comment.

  • portnoy vocals for me are great, and we might see that petrucci and portnoy are playing a instrument, its more dificult to sing well because you have to concentrate in what are you playing (: .

  • yes and labrie rocks. if he goes out, i tell ya, DT will lose a lot of fans

  • Petrucci is awful as a vocalist! Like you say though labrie fits well with DT even tho his voice might not be as good as other prog rock singers. His solo album is brilliant!

  • I don't know why people don't like LaBrie his voice is awesome

and if any other vocalist was on DT he would extend his voice to the poit LaBrie does. And if LaBrie goes out one of the fans they'll lose will be me

    DT ftw

  • I couldn't agree more. Im just glad they didn't stick with Charlie...lol...but can't hate on a guy who played or sang with DT...thats like throwing a stone at a disciple...lol.

But if there's one thing I can't wait to see/hear its the 12 step medley / friggin long interwoven DT epic. And I also miss the song "Voices" and the complete version of "Learning to Live". Too many awesome songs to ever get bored.

  • yea... and good thing bout almost every song is that they're long and i just love them like that

  • Yeah...and they have so many ideas/faces that its a wonder they wrote "Train of Thought" in 3 and a half weeks and are constantly coming up with new more challenging, brilliantly executed displays of musicianship. I mean name one band/group/musician who can do, the time signatures/key changes/and a lot of things they do, and make them all fit and sound good? Am I right?

A close friend told me once... "My favorite thing about DT is; their slow or so called easy stuff sounds amazing 2."

  • there are only two things I don't like for Labrie: 1st:

his voice is to thin, like he's never been in puberty, lol. and 2nd he doesn't play any guitar, it would be much better and looking if he had a guitar to play,my opinion is that I would feel "naked" without an instrument on stage.but anyway he's good.

  • why the fuck does he need to play guitar if hes standing next to petrucci

  • I didn't say he needs to do it you asshole, I've just made I suggestion how much cool and better would he look

  • This was before JP looked like he ate people for breakfast.

  • hahahaha yes

  • Thats what happen too my friend at the Chaos in Motion tour...damn it.

  • hahahahaha

  • karalho a batera é muito monstra!!!

    foda!!

  • People, do keep in mind that LaBrie has injured his vocal chords. It's amazing that he's still up and singing, hitting the notes he can. Major respect to him for his sheer will to continue to push himself. It wouldn't surprise me if he earlier that night hit some notes that strained him, making this a hard song to perform, yet he pulled it off. LaBrie is a fucking majestic singer. I could only dream to be a singer as good as him.

  • my god james sounds terrible here. probably tired as hell from all the concerts. he gets like no voice rest time whatsoever when they tour... ridiculous let him

  • You mean they get no breaks besides the one or two weeks they get off every month to go home and spend time with families

  • The band is definately great, the singer was as great throuout the whole nineties, but in this decade he is on decay, sorry DT fanboys but that's a fact... I wonder what would it be if Russel Allen or Jorn Lande happen to replace him, man... people would be having strokes on their concerts!

  • The singer? James LaBrie? He's not on decay. LOL! Have you listened to their new album? His voice is fucking great in Wither or A Rite of Passage! And if LaBrie must be replaced, I would love if John Petrucci would sing in his stead!!!

  • it would suck fucking ass, LaBrie is better

  • Are you kidding me? Don't get me wrong, I love Pantera and Phil's voice is crushing, but Phil Anselmo couldn't sing music like this to save his life. He can't even sing Alice in Chains, let alone Dream Theater.

  • labrie really sucked at this performance.

  • he sucks on all performances now

  • yeh. but, 1:37-42 WTF was that!!!!!!!!!

  • he was singing with a sceptor and a gun... i believe he was trying to erm... pretend he had a gun .

  • i wish i could pretend coz i really have respect for these guys. but that was way too weird.

  • the sceptor is to tempt you, and the gun is to shoot you. , but pretty much got the point.

  • simplemente genial! :D

  • I don't like you.

The username is great.....but, wtf, I don't like you.

    XD

  • He's not singing very good in this performance. Look for live performances of Dream Theater in the early 90's and you'll see LaBrie at his prime.

  • yes before his vocal chords ruptured he was amazing.

  • well he was great then vocal chords fucked then he took lessons and blew the world away with albums for example train of thought and octavarium and maybe slowly getting less again but you try singing in the name of god after a couple of dream theaters other songs, no wonder hes not getting it perfectly every time live. however new albums awesome. he stil has some power left in that voice

  • dude you are not a Dream Theater fan. ToT and Octa are like 2 of their best albums but what can I say it's Dream Theater all their albums are the best. Also, James is awesome no matter what his vocals are always top notch for me and that's all that matters.

  • point the camera at jordan rudess dammit.

  • HOW DOES HE KNOW WHICH FRETS TO HIT LOL???? God i love JP he shreds so fast yet it still sounds amazing!!! XD

  • How does Dream Theater even come up with these songs, that's the question ..

  • efter i've seen i, robot... all i can think is that all them are robots

no human can play that fast...

  • Voice is awesome for the song

  • thats his voice and learn to live with it, if you were a dream theater fan .

  • that's the point, I like some of their songs but I'm not a DT fan

    they're great musicians though

  • maybe this was his bad day or something, go check out Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence; the live performance with an orchestra.

  • BEST PART 8:12 ^^ Just amazing!

  • Solo section in this song is one of the most amazing pieces of music I have heard

  • One of th best songs i've ever heard! Amazing! Orgasmic! Petrucci fucking rules!

  • FUC.KING INCREDIBLE!! DT RULES !!!!

  • holly... i want this song in my funeraal!

  • 8:00 how is it even possible to pull off that fast?

  • Hail the Masters

  • che figo

  • AMAZING yes

  • DREAM THEATER RULES!!! MY FRIENDS

  • This song is fucking incredible
