How old are you? You're going to have a stoke. Seriously, fast forward 10 years from now and you've had a least one stoke and the ad-sense revenue isn't worth that sort of rage over this kind of bullshit.
You hit the nail on the head. I'm sick and tired of having to check my bag because all these schmucks bring on the kitchen sink and board in zone 1 and 2, making the last half of the plane not be able to carry anything on.
If nothing else, one part is true. IF PEOPLE COULD USE COMMON SENSE AND FOLLOW SIMPLE REASONABLE RULES, WE COULD ELIMINATE 90% OF THE PROBLEMS IN THIS COUNTRY!!
the funniest thing is most idiots don't realise that EVERY airline charges for carry on bags they just don't itemize it. You see they include it in their prices and just make it one BIG price. So go ahead pay the extra $200 dollars on southwest or whatever airline but just remember you're still paying for that carry on
Actually, they are being smart. Douchebag travelers in an effort to avoid checking bags are coming on board with more and more baggage and trying to jam it into the compartments. This delays boarding and causes untold inconvenience to those passengers with sense enough to just bring small personal bags aboard. Traveling by Air is becoming worse than a Greyhound Bus full of Hillbillies. People are rude, act entitled and make trips miserable for everyone else on the Plane.
Spirit has optional charges, you're basically paying for things you want which is perfectly legal. not everyone has a carry on. Who is to say that you should get free luggage just when you purchase a ticket, your ticket gets you a seat on the plane.
I like that they charge for every little thing on the plane. It's the capitalist way of running a business. Giving all the stuff free is the socialist way of doing business.
What this means is that if I don't want to carry on a lot of luggage, or get a lot of food or entertainment, I'm not stuck paying for the other passengers that do want all that.
Airlines that include all those amenities charge more for the tickets than the ones that don't and YOU the sucker gets to pay for it all.
@tcsurvivor03 LOL You didn't even watch the video. He wasn't complaining about the fares, he was complaining about the customers who were complaining about the fares.
Ben Baldanza the ahole imposed a 40 pound limit on luggage which is 10 pounds less than anyone else plus carry on charge of $30. He is as much of a douche bag as the ahole who created this video.
John Power Why do ryanair and easyjet refuse jaktogo to advertize in the in their on board magazine are they afraid the will lose extra money on extra weight at the check in /gate ‘’ wizzair had no problem’’
thats why I like Driving my own cars than flying because in your own car you can take as much baggadge as you can, beside I had a friend that filled his back of his pickup truck with bagadge and he travels allot and take his pickup on a 7 day vacation. with Interstate 10 and 40 its easier to Drive to places than using Route 66, 89, and route 87 where theres bunch of sharp turns and steep down grade where you have to down shift.
Why don't you try getting a kid and dealing with the shit you have to take with you everywhere. Damn shut the fuck up and keep the bitching to yourself.

Amen brother! Last flight I was on this guy had a 80 lb. duffle bag the size of a small human. I blaim this economy and the airlines themselves still though. If the airlines were more reasonable and allowed a free check in bag or didn't try to scam every last cent out of you at the last minute this stuff wouldn't happen or if the economy wasn't so low people wouldn't have to try to manipulate their way in.
theres a bigger issue with the full body scan, why arent you raving about that? stop flying period! protest it all! ask a doctor how many xrays you should get in a lifetime, now the full body scan is 25x the radiation what they say it is.
Oh man you are so right! I just got back from vacation, and on my flight home, there wasn't enough room in the over heads. So some people had to check there bags, bc these other idiots were allowed to carry on more than one bag, or there carry on was more or less a freakin suitcase. Luckily mine was small enough to fit under the seat in front of me so I didn't have to check it. But still it delayed the flight like 15 min.
This is about greed, nothing else. I will not pay to bring a carry on bag onto a plane or pay for a cup of water. If it was anything but bullshit about being concerned about oversized luggage, they could just stop it.

holy shit you are a moron. if you knew anything about what spirit is doing, then you'd know they are REDUCING airline ticket costs by $40, while giving one the option to have a large carry on (not including lap top cases, purses, etc) for $45. so in the end you're only gonna pay $5 extra. PLUS they are now cutting bag check fees in half, going from $25 for one bag to $25 for TWO bags. next time you might want to research before you flip out dude.
Yeah. Honestly, I think it was a great move by spirit. In the old way you paid this carry on fee if you had a carry on or not. If anything, I would say the arguement could be made that if you didn't take full advantage of the what carry on you could take (the morons) then you were really just giving spirit extra money.

@Jean0987654321 haha your an idiot. PASSENGERS THAT PAY A PENNY FOR THEIR FARES AND WANT FREE CRAP ON THEIR FLIGHTS = "IM STILL USED TO THE 90S WAY OF FLYING PEOPLE"
Hey check out the website for Luggage Express as the President and CEO of this company petition all of the airlines to start charging passengers for all of their luggage therfore people would be forced to use his business model of luggage transportation at an even higher cost. The airlines listened.
Yep .. you're the type of person we'd like to have traveling by car. :o) You should educate yourself buddy ... oh yeah, I highly advise you take an anger mgmt class buddy. LOL!!!
the reason why people has so many carry ons is because they don't want to pay for the checking bags, and at the boarding is always so hard to deal with this people that has so many carry ons ...is so awfull that now we have to pay for everything ...
Hey! I'm sprеаdіnց my eх ցirlfrieոd's sex tарe аrοuոd (ոot rеally sеx, bսt ѕhe'ѕ ոaked, pսsѕy and еvеrythinց!). Why? Bесaսsе ѕհе'ѕ а bitсh, Sհе dеѕеrved it, ѕο ցo aհеad aոd ԝatϲհ іt. And tеll yοur friеոds whаt a slut sհe іs, tհе link is oո my рrοfilе рaցе.
Idiot. Off course I'm blaming the airline. The reason the people are shlepping all these packages is because the airline charges an arm and a leg to check in a stupid bag. Stop charging the big charges (I believe it's 25 or 30 dollars to check in)and people won't bring up all theses carriages and shit.
@mefromwilli Choose a different airline or don't fly at all if you can't afford it. It's called the free market. Let them compete for your business instead of blaming them.
@2uberu there are over 300 million people in the U.S. and how many airline are there in the U.S.? Have you ever wonder how many cell phone company are there and how many TV cable company? And the prices are pretty much the same no matter who you turn to? Do you really believe this is a free market? Once Spirit starting charging for carry on, if we don't speak up, other airline is going to follow soon.
@musicosan2 Cell phone service is very competitive and so is the airline industry. Shop around and I bet you get a better deal. If enough people cared, spirit would lose money.
this is why this guy is the real moron that just yells w/o knowledge. Spirit Airlines reduced their ticket prices that would offset the carry on cost.
A genuinely "just" and "fair" way to deal with luggage would be to set a base free weight (including the weight of the person) per ticket purchased and then charge per pound for overage. Families - persons - traveling together could share their combined weight across all their tickets so that, for example, parents could carry on more to cover their toddlers, etc.
Great rant. I am sick of these people packing everything but the kitchen sink into the planes too. They tie people up in the aisle during boarding while they're trying to wrestle their elephant size bags into the overheard compartments. Take on a small bag, sit in your seat, and stow the small bag under your seat, and not delay people getting on and off the plane. But seriously dude, I hope you don't have high blood pressure, you looked like you were gonna pop a blood vessel :(
@carvin160 Yes, those large items that are against policy to carry onto the plane. Those large items that take up space in the overhead compartments so it's tougher to fit everyone else's bags on.
@sledguy910 THANK YOU!!! You took the words right out of my mouth. I've always wondered why they were so lenient about carry-on bags. You feel like you're under federal investigation the minute you set foot in the airport, but they barely bat an eyelash if you lug half your livelihood onto the plane. The airlines could easily inspect carry-ons before checking in passengers.
I really think this is more about profit in an increasingly unprofitable industry than it is about enforcing rules.
Say it louder from the rooftops ..until the (I want to be coddled generation gets with the program)..I agree completely...if they dont like it ...DRIVE
I only blame the airlines for not enforcing their own damn rules. So does that mean that now the person has paid $45 that they can feel justified with their ridiculous amount of carry ons? People weren't following rules before. Are they going to follow the rules now? The people with a single carry on are the ones who get shafted.
@bhpicturesjr Agreed! This might be my first! Completely understood that the price of checked luggage is off-kilter. Don't get me wrong, I'm not excited to pay it either, I just think that both occurrences (luggage in overheads and per-bag-charges) are polar reactions to a continuing problem. Not sure the solution, but wouldn't it be refreshing if both sides throttled it down just a little?
@bhpicturesjr Not sure it's greed. Fuel costs have risen, security requirements for airlines have gone through the roof, airlines are going bankrupt one after another - these baggage fees are about the only upcharges the airlines have any chance of hanging onto. With the burden of union employees, and increasingly costly legislation, they have to make a profit, or else you, I and everyone else will be driving or walking.
@bhpicturesjr Or perhaps he, like many others, has had enough of the "me first" mentality. If even a few people followed the long-established rules, this wouldn't have happened.
Bob, I need to go drinking with you someday 'cuz you're absolutely right. I tell my wife all the time "lets not be like the idiots we see at the airport - keep it light and simple" I don't like the fact that this could become a trend, but at the same time I understand why the airlines would charge for carry-ons.
But becides that. I just got done flying and I can say that is true. I had a backpack that I took with me and that was it. There were women that got on the plane with purses bigger than mine!
I blame the dumbfucks who don't play by the rules either. However I wish the airlines would be way more strict with their policy and literally MAKE the rule breaking asshole go check their bag. Period. After a few times of having their jackassness pointed out and telling them to get out of the line, they'd stop!
"I blame the dumbfucks who don't play by the rules either"
since when was it against the rules to store items in the overhead compartment? if it was, then spirit hasn't been playing by their own rules.
there are two sides to capitalism: the proprietor, who wants to get every dollar he can for the service he offers, and the customer, who wants to get every service he can for the dollar he pays.
what are you guys, anyway? a bunch of socialist fascists?
I agree with Bob. Unfortunately different plans have different size luggage compartments. The Airbus plans have larger bins then the 737's and capacity can vary based on location. I was on an Airbus 320 on spirit last week and was able to slip my bag in the long way in the front of the plane In a 737 it would have to go in sideways Standardization and enforcement is critical. . People don't care and try to put everything in overheads without regard to others and attendants don't help.
@sapher2020 thats what I did. It was $40 bucks. Yep around the same price to carry it on the plane, but without the hassel of checking it or waiting at baggage pick up. Got there the day after, but I just carried a big purse, one that easiel fit under the seat in front of me. I put some over night things in it. Sooo worth it!
The carry on bag problem was caused by the airlines charging up to $50 for a checked bag. Make the first checked bag free and charge a nominal fee for a second bag while strictly enforcing carry on restrictions and the problem will go away.
@fubecabr : No. Airlines are a buisness with huge overheads; so they charge for checked bags, they've every right to. If you dont like it then drive or take a boat. The problem is just as all problems are: ignorant selfish stupid fucking people. I agree with you as far as yes they should STRICTLY enforce their carry on policies. This may have solved the problem if 1000s of idiots HAVE to ditch their belongings before boarding. They may think twice before taking undue liberties the next time.
Yes, airlines do have a large overhead and they do have the right to charge for bags. But, they didn't charge for bags until 2008 when oil hit $147/bbl. Once oil crashed, they didn't get rid of the charges. As a result of the charges, people tried to avoid them and do carry-ons instead.
Even if they strictly enforced carry on policy, there still wouldn't be enough room in the bins if everyone has a carry-on plus one personal item plus a large coat.
I work in the airline industry and you won't believe how many carry on bags there are that come on and off each plane we work on. The thing i see is people start in small cities that don't have the big planes and fly small commuter planes knowing that don't have the capacity and that it will fit in the next flight. When they do get to their next flight it still don't fit since there are 80 more morons with the same idea. These freeloaders just need to tough it up and just check their bags.
More travelers are business types actually, we are the ones who have to deal with the crap Bob is talking about. Almost all business people have a laptop bag with work stuff that can fit under the seat, and roller board that fits in the bins. That's it!
I totally agree with you here Bob, but I had to cut the video short because I was developing a massive headache and ringing in my ears towards the end.
Brought to you by 5-hour energy...

Hey check out the website for Luggage Express as the President and CEO of this company petition all of the airlines to start charging passengers for all of their luggage therfore people would be forced to use his business model of luggage transportation at an even higher cost. The airlines listened.

Idiot. Off course I'm blaming the airline. The reason the people are shlepping all these packages is because the airline charges an arm and a leg to check in a stupid bag. Stop charging the big charges (I believe it's 25 or 30 dollars to check in)and people won't bring up all theses carriages and shit.
mefromwilli 1 year ago
@mefromwilli Choose a different airline or don't fly at all if you can't afford it. It's called the free market. Let them compete for your business instead of blaming them.
2uberu 1 year ago
@2uberu there are over 300 million people in the U.S. and how many airline are there in the U.S.? Have you ever wonder how many cell phone company are there and how many TV cable company? And the prices are pretty much the same no matter who you turn to? Do you really believe this is a free market? Once Spirit starting charging for carry on, if we don't speak up, other airline is going to follow soon.
musicosan2 1 year ago
@musicosan2 Cell phone service is very competitive and so is the airline industry. Shop around and I bet you get a better deal. If enough people cared, spirit would lose money.

this is why this guy is the real moron that just yells w/o knowledge. Spirit Airlines reduced their ticket prices that would offset the carry on cost.
itsalljustasham 1 year ago

But seriously dude, I hope you don't have high blood pressure, you looked like you were gonna pop a blood vessel :(

carvin160 1 year ago
@carvin160 Yes, those large items that are against policy to carry onto the plane. Those large items that take up space in the overhead compartments so it's tougher to fit everyone else's bags on.
TheT4xid3rmist 1 year ago
Here's an idea for the airlines, start enforcing the size limit on carry ons.
sledguy910 1 year ago 2
@sledguy910 THANK YOU!!! You took the words right out of my mouth. I've always wondered why they were so lenient about carry-on bags. You feel like you're under federal investigation the minute you set foot in the airport, but they barely bat an eyelash if you lug half your livelihood onto the plane. The airlines could easily inspect carry-ons before checking in passengers.
I really think this is more about profit in an increasingly unprofitable industry than it is about enforcing rules.

I only blame the airlines for not enforcing their own damn rules. So does that mean that now the person has paid $45 that they can feel justified with their ridiculous amount of carry ons? People weren't following rules before. Are they going to follow the rules now? The people with a single carry on are the ones who get shafted.
cwsonline 1 year ago
@bhpicturesjr Agreed! This might be my first! Completely understood that the price of checked luggage is off-kilter. Don't get me wrong, I'm not excited to pay it either, I just think that both occurrences (luggage in overheads and per-bag-charges) are polar reactions to a continuing problem. Not sure the solution, but wouldn't it be refreshing if both sides throttled it down just a little?
Thanks!
norcalawv 1 year ago
calm down dude. If it's really because people can't limit themselves to one bag per person, why don't they just charge extra for two or more bags?
Joshua2358 1 year ago
@bhpicturesjr Not sure it's greed. Fuel costs have risen, security requirements for airlines have gone through the roof, airlines are going bankrupt one after another - these baggage fees are about the only upcharges the airlines have any chance of hanging onto. With the burden of union employees, and increasingly costly legislation, they have to make a profit, or else you, I and everyone else will be driving or walking.
norcalawv 1 year ago
@bhpicturesjr Or perhaps he, like many others, has had enough of the "me first" mentality. If even a few people followed the long-established rules, this wouldn't have happened.

GarbageState 1 year ago
The carry on bag problem was caused by the airlines charging up to $50 for a checked bag. Make the first checked bag free and charge a nominal fee for a second bag while strictly enforcing carry on restrictions and the problem will go away.
fubecabr 1 year ago
@fubecabr : No. Airlines are a buisness with huge overheads; so they charge for checked bags, they've every right to. If you dont like it then drive or take a boat. The problem is just as all problems are: ignorant selfish stupid fucking people. I agree with you as far as yes they should STRICTLY enforce their carry on policies. This may have solved the problem if 1000s of idiots HAVE to ditch their belongings before boarding. They may think twice before taking undue liberties the next time.
xUbastardx 1 year ago
@xUbastardx

These freeloaders just need to tough it up and just check their bags.
shufunk 1 year ago
More travelers are business types actually, we are the ones who have to deal with the crap Bob is talking about. Almost all business people have a laptop bag with work stuff that can fit under the seat, and roller board that fits in the bins. That's it!
