Wow. I'm a Londoner and saw the West End version the other day, but was left cold by Emmett.... because he was played by Lee Mead, a bona fide celebrity and heartthrob in the UK. It just didn't sit right with me.

Then I saw this. I assume this is Christian Borle, the original Broadway star. He's FANTASTIC. And, more importantly, he's EMMETT. He isn't drop-dead gorgeous. He isn't even objectively attractive. But he can sing. And act. And emote. Which is the point: Emmett is meant to have depth.
