whats so good about england? i mean i get the naval support bonus and all but to me it isnt too big of a deal. i guess starting with monarchy is a big deal though....

well... you are 1 step ahead to research Feudalism... do not think that is enough?. The +1 archer is huge if you are defending in the early game, or you can use them to block enemy forest. hard to remove them.

They are difficult only if you starting city does not take advantage of the +1 food per plain tile. As soon as you get free loyalty for defensive units.. uff the Russian is hard to beat.

Play the Blitzkrieg scenario. You will be able to do it rather easily because of the unit movement boost across the board. Pick a strong military Civ like the Germans, Zulu, or Aztec and you're good to go.
