Shattered is a great studio song, maybe that's where it should have stayed? I remember watching them do this song live on SNL, I don't know how long it took me to recognize the song they were performing was Shattered. Great studio song, not so great live.
This live '81 version still retains some of the greatness of the live '78 versions of Shattered, their current live versions of Shattered should be disgarded......sorry; but it's true, but still, the Stones rule.
@TheMAR1958 A lot of the time, Keith would have a bass part in mind. When he would show Bill the part, Bill would say "you have it down, why don't you play it"
either that, or Bill wasn't at the session. Bill doesn't have a super huge ego like some musicians do, he was pretty down to earth.
it just isnt the same without wyman

If Mick ever showed up in the outfit in real life on the streets or a bar, he'd get the shit kicked out of him. (BTW, I love the outfit!)

Kieth Richards played bass on this song for the studio version. I wonder why this live version, the bass by Bill Wyman is awesome
