Pat Barry is awesome man. Very humble, Very honest and down to earth. Not too many fighters will admit where they are weak at. Even though his ground game is suspect, he is 1 of my top 5 favorite heavyweights in ufc.

He is a very likeable guy, looking forward to seeing this guy in the future and hope he does well. Had a feeling he would say kongo, only problem is kongo has a habit of clinching guys and taken them down or trying to, and against a guy like this, i can see that happening, if hes able to stop that however....it will be interesting, easy said then done, kongo is 6'4 and 240lb. I personally would love to see this guy at 205lb, just think its more ideal and perfect for him, just my opinion.

Some people (mainly certain brazilian champions and certain aka guys) find it a complete insult to fight your friend and grounds to become enemies. As a non brazilian/aka member it is a sport to me, i have fought and would fight my friends. It's a sport, not a drunken bar brawl. I see it as no different than playing soccer or basketball against a friend. Just raised different I guess.

If you watch interviews with this guy it seems he's using the friend thing to his own advantage.

He said he was more comfortable stepping in the cage with someone he knows, instead of a strangers.

Also he's been training with Atoni for years and knows his style and weak points.

It just doesn't seem honorable, it seems to me like barry was taking advantage of his friend in this particular fight.

You'll have to search for it but there was a lot more behind this fight than just their friendship, I saw the article about an hour ago. I guess when Barry trained with hardonk for 4-5 years under hoost, hoost treated him like shit and was very negative, when barry said he was leaving to go to roufus' gym, hoost said "so" and didn't care. Barry looked at this fight as him and roufus vs hardonk and hoost. I think it was more to get back at his former coach.
