As a Plattsburgh native I grew up hearing about young people's apathy. While town/gown relations were never terrible, I don't think they were inspirational during my 18 years in the 'burgh. This video brought tears to my eyes. The young residents surrounding the campus will not forget this night - they will see college students as engaged, hopeful and ready to change the world. Obama is an inspiration - but you SUNY P'burgh students have also inspired this young generation. Go Cardinals!

I graduated from there and when I first heard about what happened I figured it was just a bunch of kids who finally found a reason to cause some havoc outside and to say they participated in a march (although there is a very very slim chance they even voted), but after watching the video I am pleasantly surprised at how people seemed genuinely excited and harmonious with one another- not what I expected. Way to go Plattsburgh!
