  • hello, i have a question regarding working with maya and zbrush. I made the low poly model, and now imported it to zbrush. I want to have him rigged and textured later on. SO once i refine the model i will bring the normal maps and texture back to maya. Now, I never did this before so I don't know if im doingthis in the right order. When should I rig, and make blend shapes? I also want to have soft eyes. Could you write it out in order for me? Thanks.

  • @kasia97 If you're using GoZ, it's easy to send the model back to Maya, and it will send it at the lowest subdivision level. In zBrush, you'll also create your displacement maps and so on, to be applied in Maya to the low poly mesh. Once that's done, and the model is set, I would do the rigging. That would also be the time to do the blend shapes.

  • @kasia97 If you're using a version of zBrush without GoZ, you can always export the texture and displacement maps, then export the model at its lowest subdiv level, and put those together in Maya, then go on to doing the rigging.
