  • I think they've worked out all the kinks now. Is the Osprey not now in service?

  • this plane is a POS put it in the juck yard

  • HEY! Who stole my lawn mower?!

  • and the reason is crashed is that the early computers were crossed, so when the pilot went to comp left it went right, so he went to comp right and it over comped left. and yes this was a very early test flight.

  • FUCKKKK!!!

  • look for the sky.Problem? :P

  • first rule if it dont take off level then its not fit to fly

  • when it is level on artificial horizon lower throttles to land dopey pilot

  • The Osprey is a great plane today. This was during flight testing. Unfortunately planes go down all the time during initial phase testing. Even during update testing planes go down. Only a year ago the f-22 went down during an upgrade test flight and that plane is amazing.

  • they should have "borroughed" some saucer technology from those 62 alien races that "hang around" our atmosphere for millenia if not millions of years...

  • @gabigowriel what does "borroughed mean"? i know of a word borrowed.

  • @drfizzi ok , that one ; english is not my native language and I don't even try to spell corectly!

but I still hold my above comment!

  • Hey NCSportsMan70:

    hol·o·caust

    –noun

    1. a great or complete devastation or destruction, especially by fire.

  • uhh you did it wrong

  • Dammit my pizza's late

  • $50,380,000,000 DOLLARS spent for the aircraft... 5 dollars spent for the drunk russian to drive ze plen, after ze vodka vas all gon!

  • pilot: SHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHIT

  • Comment removed

  • That's why you don't give vodka to soldiers

  • The Crash truck was already rolling before it went down.

  • @devgru14 It was the crash truck!

  • $110,000,000 average cost per, including developmental costs. 458 planned pruduction run=$50,380,000,000.

  • Known as the "North Carolina Lawn Dart" among the Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point MCAS crowd...

  • Pilot: "oh look man, there´s another helicopter at the left side oO" , Co-Pilot: " no sir we have two rotors" , Pilot: oh i think at the left side from us is...aiyee !! shit shit shit!!"

  • thats your billions of dollars at work for you. i hope they keep spending it to hide the mistake.

  • My father helped design the computers... even he said that these Osprays are shit...

  • i wish maverick was flying that with goose lol thene there would be no R.I.P!

  • all awhile i v been seeing this same video abt osprey i am pissing.....y did u guys copied????!!!!

  • Flying Coffin. Luckily it hasn't killed anyone in quite a long time

  • omg

  • is pilot drunk or something?

  • fortunately the Osprey is now one of the most capable and safe aircraft in current use....

the problem that caused most of the crashes was due to some vortices being generated by the dual rotors interfering with lift. specifically due to the change in direction during tilting operations.

that problem was sorted out. and this is now officially the coolest transport aircraft -ever- XD

  • oneway ticket aircraft

    RIP guys

  • Crashes were in stages of development. Ospreys passed in formation over my house almost daily during pre deployment training, with no problems. Very fast hybid now. Love the distinctive sound. Even with liberal anti-mil brainwashed journalism, have not seen any negative reports lately. Always problems with new complex designs. V-22 leaves other helo's in it's vapor trail...

  • The taliban dont even have to shoot it. They just wait a couple minutes and it crashes on its own.

  • They Osprey has killed more Marines than the Taliban.

It's a dog of an aircraft.

  • What a shameful waste of hardware & tax money

  • How fucking horrible!! The military continues to keep pushing this fucking flying Holocaust on tax payers and the screwed troops that have to fly or ride aboard it.

  • @carbonsnail Yup, that's what they get for trying to make the fancy sci-fi movie vtol crap a reality. you can only punch physics in the face so hard before it eats your fist.

  • carbonsnail@Swaahny: Right on brother well put.

  • @carbonsnail Unfortunately, the military really needs a VTOL cargo/troop plane. Helis just don't have the range or speed that they need. But they really need to look at redesigning this Osprey with more composite materials.

  • @carbonsnail I would not use the word Holocaust to describe the situation.

  • carbonsnail@NCSportsMan70: Actually those were the words my brother used to describe it back in the day. I remembered them because I found them to be so funny at the time. He worked as a design engineer during it's prototype stage of development and decided to say screw it, he later moved on to the B-2 which he thought was a good bird.

  • @carbonsnail This was during TESTING moron, they are now fully operational and deployed to Afghan. I expect you can't even name the aircraft. Have you asked the pilots and crew what they feel about it? I didn't think so. The military does what the fuck it wants.

  • @carbonsnail The aircraft that crashes in the video is one of the safest, most versatile hybrid aircraft in the world ...the wind was too strong.

  • carbonsnail@LINKROCKZYOU Link you sound like a man with some experience with this aircraft and im sure that your proud of it and its accomplishments. Im sure that you know that the aerospace industry has a tradition of giving it's employees the opportunity of something called a check ride. My brother worked on the project and wasn't to impressed he split when another job came along. One of his buddies who stayed said no worker took the company up on the check ride. Cant say that I blame them.

  • @carbonsnail its was an early test flight.....

  • carbonsnail@Lensk15 Right on thanks Lensk I still don't think that id feel comfortable flying in it though. Thanks

  • @carbonsnail im an airframer mech on this bird, trust me, its saves more lives in Afghanistan. it can get wounded out at 250 knots, if not faster. all helo platforms have had theyre production crashes and fatalities, more than the 22 actually. i trust this bird 100%.

  • carbonsnail@usmc1stin1 : Right on thanks for your words bro, glad to see you made it home from that shit hole over there. That's good to know that it speeds our wounded back to the help that they deserve. I hope that your unit didn't lose any of it's birds or personnel while over there. How is it for you to work on. Are the panels hard to pull? Hydraulics easy to get too? Im a former Marine to used to work on EA-6B Prowlers. Keep the faith and stay safe. Semper Fi.

  • This isn't a hybrid anything, it's a Boeing V-22 Osprey, and it's a tilt-rotor aircraft... hybrid airplane, hahahhaha

  • american flying can

  • Russian pilot that is drunk...

  • @gigigogogo Na they fly better drunk..

  • @Dorisequador

    lol

  • omg. idiot.

  • Flying in a V-22 Osprey looks scary

  • woman pilot

  • EJECT, EJECT

  • They all crash something because they won't just use gyro's. A space shuttle can just have gyro's, then everybody goes that ain't no space shuttle. So, fine then, make a mountain of junk hauler.

  • @zach2408dk All modern helicopter's, among other VTOL aircraft, have gyros. The instability stems from the low diameter rotor, resulting in low acceleration, which cannot keep up with said gyros. The Osprey's only means of roll input during vertical takeoff is varying the acceleration between the rotors.

  • and not a single fuck was given that day

  • EJECT EJECT!.. oh sh*t im upside down..

  • Looks like they were too eager for Halo: Reach

  • v22 osprey XDDD

  • I hate it to see it crash. It's just a beautiful machine...

  • american made!!

  • And the 'Mericans wonder why their country is broke. Here's one reason...

  • Did you hear the comment "initial test flight?" The Osprey is now an incredible aircraft and can do things many other aircrafts cannot. And correct me if I am wrong but isn't the "Merican" military far more superior than that of any other country? Thought so.

  • @manning2400

Yeah, just ask the Vietmanese bout how superior the 'Merican army is. Or the Somalis. Or the Afghani mujihadin.

See, the problem with a jingoist moron like you is that you are incapable of seeing a bigger picture, as pre-occupied as you are with you "U. S. A!" chanting.

RnD for the Osprey cost a pretty penny moron, and for what? Has it had a huge economic upsurge for precious 'Merica? Has it staved off economic decline? Would the money have been better put somewhere else?

  • @manning2400 Not in training. Brits get trained better. Americans just have more number and more techno shit. So yeah, americans win. BUT BRITISH COME SECOND! YAYYYAYAYAYAYAY.

  • @Shirokinukatsukami fuck you

  • @angryprometeus

Well, at least you live up to your name.

    It should be however, "angryfucktard."

  • @Shirokinukatsukami wow your fucking retarded, the us makes money off of your sucky country

  • @angryprometeus

Really? Well, i shall put pen to paper in an attempt to put a stop to that.

  • @Shirokinukatsukami ok i dont really understand...................

  • @Shirokinukatsukami bhutan has absolutley no power over any country

  • so that was not a very good idea

  • Oops!

  • OVERCORRECTION!

  • 0:09 MAYBE IF I FULL THROTTLE, SINCE IM ABOUT TO HIT THE GROUND, IT WILL SOFTEN UP THE CRASH?

  • @mounsteres Feel free to use logic...

  • I recently (late spring early summer of this year) saw a group of these fly over my house multiple times so I'd have to guess they fixed the problem(s) with them.

  • oops sorry USA we just raised ur taxes some more

  • poor v22 and pilot

  • Just looking at it tells me its Un-safe.

  • @vincentx915 Yes, you know its unsafe by looking at it for 18 seconds. Think of all the development and prototype costs they could have saved if you had been around to tell them that.

  • what did that dude have to drink before then?

  • The Osprey is a flawed concept. A better approach would have been a fixed wing, with four TF-34 turbofans--two on the cheeks, and two near the tail above the wing, that pivoted down for vertical takeoff. No instant wreck if one engine goes out, faster, quieter, and I bet safer and with less development costs.

  • @DandAinTac the prop rotors on the osprey are linked so that an engine failure doesn't lead to an instant crash. the proplem with jets is that the thrust kicks up rocks, blows people over, digs holes in dirt, scours concrete, & vertical flight with jet engines uses an incredible amount of fuel.

  • @kdraper2007 But aren't these problems true with the Harrier also? But that doesn't stop that aircraft from being widely used? And true, vertical flight makes the jets consume a lot of fuel, but I think they get better gas mileage in level flight, which is where such a craft would spend most of it's time.

  • @DandAinTac - turbine engines are optimised for running at a certain power level, as they actually become more and more efficient the faster they can operate. Unfortunately, a VTOL must use more power to lift off vertically than it needs to maintain level flight on wing lift, so it will always be less efficient in level flight than a non-VTOL aircraft. The main reason the Osprey's rotors are cross-shafted is to synchronise them, so the lift is balanced.

  • @kdraper2007 I didn' t know that the prop rotors were linked though. Must be a shaft running down the wing? Do you work for Boeing?

  • HOLY HUGE LAWNMOWER!

  • i have seen these things in action when there prefected and its amazing!! this one was long ago there better now dats though

  • *dramatic* music. *tombstone reads* Here lies the brave 22 men sloiders that have died. We may not forget them as the test pilots who destroyed a 2 million dollar airship, but we remeber them as soilders who defended our country. May their rip and battered bodies be laid to rest

  • The program cost billions and these things are so unrelliable

  • Hybrid? This is an Osprey V22

  • i like the hybirds. And EPIC FAIL FLYING!Well thats a new way to drill.Get a helicopter and get the propeller to the ground. And the ground thing is epic

  • All the Osprey has ever done is killed people.

  • @Karl0010 and save soldiers in afghanistan by getting to the scene faster than a helicopter but landing in the same amount of space.

  • @blazefox2 the Osprey is the most requested air asset in Afganistan. the Marines have been using them operationally for 3 years with no problems. this accident happened in flight test, this is why they have flight test in the first place. some of the greatest aircraft in history had accidents in flight test while working out all the bugs.

  • @Karl0010 so has ford, toyota, honda, chevrolet, harley davidson, gmc, etc, etc, in just one day. than all the osprey's fatalities put together...so what's your point..dead is dead

  • Пилоты то выжили?

  • Well there goes anoter few million dollar our US government has wasted. And a crew.

  • defines the word fail...

  • that is so fucking dumb it went sideways at first lift off u would think he would land it right after that happened..

  • The real development of this aircraft has been it's computing systems. Back in the 1990s they probably relied on pilot skill to manage the aircraft. Now they have hi-tech electonics to keep the aircraft stable. The Harrier is the same, without it's computers it would never be able to keep a stable hover over a moving aircraft carrier.

  • shit was the pilot hurt?

  • @MrFaulconbridge nah he survived and got a side afect that makes him undistructdible... :D ( bad spelling )

  • sounds like a dirtbike

  • Even on a Flitgh simulator is hard to land that thing.

  • Ah yes...."The V22 North Carolina Lawn Dart". And the sound in the background was a Detroit Diesel on an Oshkosh Crash Truck. A familiar sound around a V22 Osprey... The V22 should be scrapped. Anyone I've ever flown in had some sort of "issue" in flight.

  • Now that they have been fully developed they are working excellent and are in use overseas. Good thing they didn't listen to all the hand wringers who said it would never work.

  • They should either stick to Planes or Helicopters and wait for the Japanese to create a hybrid!

  • Ganon's voice: DIE.

  • Thats terrible R.I.P.

  • i'm not quite sure about this test flight, but i do know that there was another one where they were testing the loading capacity with soldiers and ammo(i think 22 soldiers) and everyone on-board was killed.

    ~R.I.P.~

  • @amk9998 Thats terrible. R.I.P.

  • @amk9998 The osprey has crashed like 4-5 time and they're still putting it through for use in the military. This is a constant problem with this air craft.

  • @amk9998 Why would they use soldiers? They could use loads which would simulate soldiers and ammo, etc.

  • @amk9998 What they should have done was just fill it with weights to simulate a full load, and then maybe kill just the test pilot and not all the marines on board. Theres an idea!

  • @itsjustme2919 weights dont move arround....

  • that ugly thing replaced the most beautiful helicopter in the world, sad

  • bet it was a woman pilot lol

  • @mrninja2000 LOL

  • stupid americans

  • @mihaivl Yeah, stupid Americans. Always inventing shit, like the Osprey. And the silicon chip, the internet, the telephone, the personal computer, the airplane, and half the other stuff we use every day. Damn them.

  • @ginsunh at least we benefit from the sh!t's they invent, man!!!! Like being able to watch and comment with videos here at youtube...

  • Comment removed

  • @dot109 Yes, I know. I am American. I was being facetious.

  • Holy shit that was hurt

  • my friend is always bashing the offspree

because no other plane or helicopter in existence crashes i like it

  • Epic Fail

  • its kind of a test flight so they expect it to happen

  • Fail^^

  • The good part is, the lawn didn't have to be mown that week.

  • @mipmipmipmipmip the other good part is theres no need to plow the dirt in the near future

  • hahahahha

  • Duct tape that back together! That crash looked survivable. Anyone know the outcome of the pilots?

  • Two minor injuries. No fatalities in that particular crash.

  • pacman... its always easy to critique.. get a license and then we can talk

  • you can hear the rescue truck going on its way when he saw the plane in trouble... professional

  • sounds like the rescue truck is powered by a 2 stroke detroit diesel. those screamin jimmies are workhorses

  • Comment removed

  • that'll be expensive

  • he should have cut the power and set her down after he first cliped the ground with the left engine pod

  • oops.

  • that's not a hybrid. ITS A V-22 OSPREY

  • but this happened when it was still in its testing phases

  • what its the name of tht helicopter ???

  • it is an osprey helicopter

  • noob

  • there goes hard to tell how many millions down the drain

  • they cannot use this as a commercial. ca vaudrait mieux de simuler l'"orfraie" avec un jeu pc sans accident, hehe...

  • that pilot must be a veteran

  • ouch!!!

  • Can't a helicopter just take off and rise fast to avoid accidents like these ?

  • I watch those test flights at NAS Patuxent River in the 80's, I still cant believe the Marine Corp. took delivery of those.

  • All it will take is one operational crash full of marines before they pull the plug on the osprey. that would be my guess anyhow

  • Apparently, the Marines and the Air Force are confident about the Osprey now.

  • stupid marine corp trying to be unique

  • and these are replacing the CH46... fuck that. I don't wanna go back to mech school to work on these whirling death birds. :( they still crash nowadays and are horrible in desert conditions.

  • those things are hard to control D:

  • how would you know!

  • and what do you fly sir?

  • Paper airplane.

  • ahhhhh..... um........neato little fella..?

  • Thank you, i tried my best and used up the rest of my brain for that thought.

  • 4 all of u saying bad piolt an so on...r u a fucking test pilot?...NOO!!! so shut the fuck up

  • this guy shouldn't even be allowed to ride a bike

  • @ ColdToiletSeats

YOU should get a new brain! If you would probably know anything about physics, even if it is the easiest and the basic, you would recognize, that you can't fly something like that without the correct computer support. And by the way it's one of the first test flights and you don't want to know how many planes crashed...

  • i think you should go test the same thing as these guys

    you moronic fuckin idiot lol

    just kill yourself now

  • hm....just proves that Oldenways got more knowledge than you....
