some do this standard its called the transtop system made up of 400 parts if it goes wrong its a nightmare thats why i have the one where you manually put the roof in the boot

yes that was my opinion also next to that do it manual takes 10 seconds to take it of and put it in the trunk.

No. This is something that you have to add custom. They come with a targa top holder in the trunk though.

oh i have an ef d15b2 hatchback, i bought it as my first car 4 years ago, now after saving up money for a year i can finally get myself an eg6 vti.now thats a car i MUST have after owning a NON vtec engine..dont you think?i am considered to be one of the most insane drivers in taking corners fast.imagine what i will do with this car..anyways :) cheers! :)

i just replaced my trunk with carbon fiber, and glad i did, that was a freakin heavy trunk, u can feel the effect of lighter trunk on turns and breaking, u need two poeple to lift the trunk by it self, while you can lift the carbon fiber with one hand

first time I saw this I was twelve.. it was back in 1995. I said I would get one when I was older. When I dinged 18 I got one. with the electric top ofcourse :) awesome system. I'm surprised that some ppl didn't know it since it is 15 years old.

Of course it is heavy, it is a 1991 roadster with one of the first (if not the first) electric hardtop roof system. it is supposed to be droven enjoying the sun with a set of big boobs on the passenger sit. I mean! del sol!! it is is name! if you want a racing car use the same B16A2 on a EG6. if you wanna enjoy the sun and still get a glance of 160HP magic, then get a del sol.. check its lines! it is still up to date after 16 years!

Thats amazing if you want to keep your del Sol a 60 MPH del Sol ( so to speak ) That del Sol will never be fast @ the track with that incredible amount of added weight. Looks cool tho, allthough it doesnt look too elegant.

the de sol is already a heavy car dude.get youre self a nice eg6 with a nice set up for track and remove all interior if you want something light and fast.(not all hondas are meant for drag racing)

the de sol with the electric system weights way more than the simple desol and the simple desol weights way more than a siple eg..and a simple eg weights way more than an ef, so an ef with a b18 is way faster than all these cars :S

Yeah I definately agree, VTEC is the way to go. Nothing compares to that 5,000 RPM slam! Yeah, you should definately do well with that. Right now I'm rollin a 94 Del Sol B16a3.

can we stop this conversation? :) cause your making me wanna go downstares get out in the street and highjack the first eg6 i see just to drive it all the way to the vtec powerband :)..i am looking to buy myself a well maintained eg6, cause there arent many around (too many slapy drivers keep crashing them). :) what you are driving right now sounds nice..i am more a trackday guy rather than a glamourous guy..id take out all the seats just to lessen the weight if you know what i mean.. :)

mitosis123 in japan the del sol had a factory option called a trans top, which is pretty much the same as what you see here if not exactly the same. Also, the trans top wouldn't add no more then a hundred pounds at most, which in a 8th mile it would only be a tenth of a second difference.

Where did you get that information on weight to 1/8 mile weight to time ratio? In my opinion when I do weight reduction to go to the track I feel a much bigger difference than 0.1 on just the 1/8. But if you have a source, I'd like to see it. It would be very valuable information. Thanks in advanced!

it is never suggested to buy a honda with an automotic roof due to the fact that if there is a problem with the roof while going in or out , the engine fails to start.
