  • Who cares? I am sure there are plenty better shots who just don't care to ski. This sport is silly anyway. It was supposed to be a military type competition. Now it has colorful tights instead of uniforms, a .22 instead of a 6.5X55mm rifle and civilians instead of soldiers. . .Really, who cares?

  • Not bad, but the problem I have with so much of this type of competition is that it's all about how good of a machine you have.

  • @nicholasscholten absolutely not. Give these guys a ruger 10/22 and they would wreck most other shooters using top of the line rifles. Their physical fitness and ability to control their breathing and bring their heart rate down quickly is second to none. The rifle has very little to do with being good at this.

  • How many metters long is the shoot?

  • это вроде та гонка где у Ахатовой винтовка сломалась

  • Khvostenko: the best shot biathlon will EVER see

  • neuner the best ski skills

  • not better then ray allen ! haha

  • That is impressive. Not just the accuracy, but the speed.

  • Seems a bit odd that

the German is shooting an Izhmash

and the Ukrainian has an Anschutz???

  • tolle Schießtechnik

  • Awesome.

  • Khvostenko forever.....

We will miss you. Good luck.

  • Khvostenko, Ekholm and Dorin are the best shooters in Biathon circuit

Khvostenko great silver medal on World Championships in Khanty Mansisk great end of her carriere

We will miss you greetings from Germany

  • my dad used to this, he was in the olympics:), but the next year he was called to belize on a tour of duty:(

  • Oksana Khvostenko is like Simon Eder - he is faster shooter in men, she in women :)

  • 50 meters range

  • I dont know much about this sport, what kind of range are they shooting at?

  • Germany are the best!!

  • 0:21

  • и кто выиграл??

  • @AnjeyFox

    1.Germany

    2. Ukraine

    3. France

  • @yurchenkovetal

    fucking lucky Germany

  • omg i want to shoot like that

  • ukrains are the best shooters so no suprise here

  • the thing about this sport is that its a combo between two things that have an opposite effect on your body. your skiing really fast which gets your heart racing and then you have to stop calm down and take time to shoot. then go back to skiing.

  • Call or weird or call ii bass, just seeing someone skiing with a gun on their back is so much cooler than guy's figure skating.

  • They use .22 lr

  • It's Russian

  • they use .22 rifles i just read an article bout it in popular mechanics and the science of the biathlon

  • Comment removed

  • " they jus use .22's now cuz its made for the sport light reliable an very small made to shoot a target that far away"

Those rifles in the biatholon are NOT small nor light and 50 meters is not far away...in the Army we trained to shoot at 300 meters!

  • @toddy2519

Well, when your shooting at a target that is only 4 inches.....it's challenging. The prone targets are only 1.7 inches!!

  • naw, they use pellet guns

  • no, trust me, they use .22's

  • 300 whole meters! oh wait, you mean from a supported prone position (with sandbags), a higher speed round, and wind breaks on both sides of the range. Totally relevant to the conversation.

  • @penner1298

Yeah, unless someone can take a target with a high powered rifle from beyond about mmmm 1000 mters, they don't have much to say, almost anyone can hit a target from below 1000 with enough range shots

  • @penner1298 add on a heart rate of about 170-180 bpm and then lets see how u do

  • Why can't they shoot something substantial, something remotely realistic to the sport's hunting or warfighting roots..?

  • This is realistic. Those are the kind of conditions you might be facing in actual arctic warfare. you have a target at a distance to shoot at, and you have to contend with not only the surrounding conditions, but your own physiological conditions as well. You try hitting a target like that when your heart is doing excess of 190bpm.

  • However, you've probably never done this before.

  • If your heart is in excess of 190bpm and your an adult - perhaps you haven't been training for this sport? You should probably sit down and rest for a minute - 'cause you're obviously not an athlete.

  • because it has nothing to do with hunting

this technique was used in WW1 an WW2 to train soldiers

  • It was used/invented in the late 1800s in Norway to encourage national defense at the local (militia) level. And an alternative military training procedure.

  • Well, then give them rifles to take down soldiers, not .22s. My point still stands, considering I said, "warfighting roots."

  • they didnt use .22's when they trained back then they used what they would normally use in war they jus use .22's now cuz its made for the sport light reliable an very small made to shoot a target that far away

  • And the germans have gold in that! Suddenly it makes sense, doesn't it!

  • I love doing biathlon, such an intense sport.

  • Jeremy Teela all the way!!!!

The US is taking Vancover by storm!!!
