  • This Game Is ASS GRAVY!!!

  • wait, oil man? ... Yeah 2006 capcom, you're so origional

  • Hey! look! it's air man!

  • Nothing short of an abomination.

  • @PeskySaurus2 how do you screen capture with DosBox? Im pretty sure its a command. Its that or you are using a program. Can you answer?

  • @PlayingItOldSkool I don't remember but yeah I'm using DOS Box. I'll look it up for you in a bit.

  • I love the soundtrack :)

  • Mega Man! You've put on weight!

  • u missed tha pellet you doofus

  • @vinciblemike1 LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL whoops which part

  • dude needs to slide more, sliding in megaman is almost as important as spin-dashing in sonic.

  • Mega Man's face scare the shit out of me in the stage select screen

  • "High Tech" Expressions?, mah ass.

  • wave man will not die?

  • Wave Man = Air Man

    Bit Man = Hard Man

    Blade Man = Metal Man

    Torch Man = Ring Man

    Oil Man = Flash Man

Shark Man = A bad sprite creator made this one

    Thats my opinion

  • @MrAnonimo992 torch man is magnet man without the magnet on his head

  • @legorulez49 now i noticed LOL

  • @MrAnonimo992 Shark Man= Snake man (Or Crash man maybe?)

  • @MrAnonimo992 Actually, Torch Man is Magnet Man without the Magnet on his head

  • Jeez. The dude that made this just recycled Air Man and put a slightly different mouth on the bastard.

  • could this game played in modern day computer?

  • @Rifqi1464 If you use DOSBox yeah. It's a DOS emulator.

  • The return of Retard Man from the first DOS MM.

  • I like megaman's face at the end O_O

  • With all of those oil drums laying around, America should probably just invade Wave Man's stage instead of Libya.

  • Hahaha, I remember playing this on my old Packard Bell back in like, '93. I was baffled because I owned Megaman 3 for the NES, so when I turned this game on I expected to fuck up Top Man from the get-go, but then I saw that him and no others from the NES version were to be found. Reminds me of the old computer greats like Wizardry, Commander Keen, Xargon, Jill of the Jungle, and all of the other great Shareware games...

  • This version of Mega Man 3 is an insult for me...

  • Dr. light looks like a yeti 4:20

Megaman looks like a dog or monkey 4:20

  • Wave Man Ga Taosenai?

  • Nice palette swaps here. Bit Man = Hard Man Blade Man = Metal Man Shark Man = Wood Man Oil Man = Flash Man Wave Man = Air Man Torch Man = Magnet Man

  • megaman? more like awkward face man

  • I remember I used to have this game...except I think my copy was defective because for the year or so that I tried to play it, the bosses never would show up.

  • good grief. it looks like some kid colored over robot masters on ms paint... -_-"

  • Pros and Cons about Megaman DOS games.

Pro - Good graphics, easy handling and control, difficult levels.

Cons - No music, easy boss fights, not enough enemies, short levels.

The cons outweigh the pros by 1 point.. I would give 1st and 3rd game 6/10

Still, just for the sake of the year the games were made, they weren't as horrible as people bandwagon them to be.

  • hahahhahahaha at mega man on the stage select screen!

  • i love how it's the last thing you see too.

  • longest unnecesarily scientific wepaon get message in history

  • Megaman looks like a total derp when you put the cursor over his square.

  • I'm sure this has been done, but let us compare boss portraits:

Torch Man = Magnet Man sans magnet

Bit Man = Yellow Hard Man

Blade Man = Weird Metal Man

Oil Man = Red Flash Man with weird head thing on top

Wave Man = Air Man with different "mouth"

Shark Man = Probably butchered Snake Man who just looks wacky

  • It's not like the early pc was ever a good game platform. Also the game looks like it had to be recreated from scratch.

  • @ClickClackClickClack I must argue the first point... what else would gaming have been done on? I mean the Atari was classic and all, but before the NES and Master System, PC graphics ruled hardcore by comparison (this remains true today, at least a couple months after a console release.) If you wanna see something really interesting, unrelated though, look up "Duke Nukem vs Mega Man DOS." Apparently a lot was re-used for this game ...

  • @PeskySaurus2 Could u give me the link to Duke Nukem VS Megaman DOS? I can't seem to find it.

  • @reggiardito dosclassics. com/duke/1other.php

  • @PeskySaurus2 Had to make a space or else it wouldn't let me post it. Be sure to close the space in the actual URL.

  • @PeskySaurus2 Why thank u sir!

  • @PeskySaurus2 While I won't say that the PC was never a good gaming platform, the point you're making isn't quite correct, the Commodore Amiga 500 was a vastly more powerful machine in that time with superior graphics (especially later when the AGA chip came around) and great sound.

  • @Dragondraikk Amiga 500 was a home computer...

  • @PeskySaurus2 Well so was the PC

  • @Dragondraikk ... yes. That's agreeing with what I'm saying lol

  • @Dragondraikk Actually, what I'm kinda saying is, it IS a PC. Personal Computer doesn't necessarily mean IBM compatible. It's a pretty broad unbrella. But this is just semantics.

  • @PeskySaurus2 Well if want to be that precise, then sure :) I was simply thinking IBM-PC as that is was the term normally implies

  • @ClickClackClickClack It was entirely possible to create good platformers for the pc back then. Haven't you heard of Commander Keen?

There are no technical problems with this port. The artwork is just butt ugly; it's different in style from the console version for no reason, and there's no music.

  • that's not wave man thats air man

  • @HyperKnuckles259 lmfao I read your whole series of posts in direct succesion in my notices in my inbox. Awesome. And yeah, I remember reading on the old MMHQ website that they just took those sprites you're talking about and edited them.

  • Whoever made this should be put to death before a firing squad... then reanimated as a zombie and put to death again before another firing squad.

  • Megaman Looks Like Cock

  • 0:28 Oh, right, and there's no music in this game.

0:33 Wow, this has all the hallmarks of a very weak rom hack.

0:44 Our first stage (which coincidentally will look like other stages) takes place in the Gulf of Mexico.

1:05 Mega Man looks bulky and weird in this game, which is better than I expected.

1:27 Geez, it's the Exxon Valdez. I wonder if they sponsored this game.

1:33 It's the silent embrace of death.

1:49 Shouldn't the oil make his robot parts lubricated and move easier?

  • I had this game. It didn't leave a very lasting memory.

  • Comment removed

  • yay, megaman has Santa Claus on his computer

  • The graphics are pretty good overall for dos, but eegad!!! Do something about mega man's mugshot on the stage select screen!

  • Blade Man --> Metal Man - Circular saw is removed and colour is changed to purple.

Torch Man --> Magnet Man - Magnet is removed.

Shark Man --> Crash Man - Visor and helmet is replaced by a gray helmet decorated to look like a shark's head or a Snake Man with his Snake helmet redecorated like a shark.

Oil Man --> Flash Man - Colour is changed to red and the helmet is altered a bit to cover the mouth

  • Wave Man --> Air Man - Fan is replaced by six water guns.

Bit Man --> Hard Man - Colour is changed to bright yellow and a decorative piece is added to the head.

  • so waveman is airman without a fan oil man is flashman without blue and has something over his mouth and bit man is hardman and torchman is metal man but looking forward and doesnt have the blade o his head?

  • the game is untouchable

  • I remember playing this game, and I remember it being so god damn hard.

  • damn shame there is no music

a crucial part that made the NES games so special

  • Eh? No music?

    :(

  • nice music.

  • Airman would cry if he saw that horrid design ripoff

  • when mega climbs the ladders, he looks like friggin donkey kong...

  • Ok, so they made up Oil Man and Blade Man...Coincidens that they are now in MM Powered up ans MM 10 ?

  • @MaverickHunterXZA i think capcom wisely allowed themselves to not be limited by this lisencing oversight (they probably regret allowing this game to be made, and hate that people like me remember it lmfao). but this game isn't like a prank or anything, it was a real port ... i may even still have the box and floppy disks / DOS installation manual somwhere in my garage lol

  • This is the best soundtrack in the world!

  • It sounds like crap, but the graphics are pretty good and the pace is still rather fast.

  • @Plasmawarrior the controls are simple too, J jumps and Spacebar shoots... arrow keys move of course. then again i could just be used to it cause i had this game on floppy disk when i was a young lad lol

  • @Plasmawarrior

The graphics are not good, they are colorless and look like shit.

  • @Rachman1337

At least someone is remaking this into a traditional 8-bit Mega Man. But there'll be some slight differences. Wave Man, Oil Man & Blade Man has to have their names changed due to Powered Up using Oil, 5 using Wave & 10 using Blade.

  • Airman is a tranzformer and tranzformated into... WAVE MAN!!!

  • @TitanKaempfer so does that mean that wave man can't be beaten either?

  • Kiiiinda funny that FOUR of the Super Robots introduced in this game had their names/concepts used later in 'official' games....

Just waiting for Bitman and Torchman to turn up in Rockman 11. =p

  • wave man jumps like a puppet

  • bizarro mega man series

  • I like the music

  • @sonicfanatic4949 this is preharps the most genius soundtrack EVER in a video game, suck it, final fantasy and kingdom hearts

  • Mega Man: "Air Man? What happened that huge fan you had?!"

Air Man: "Meh, lost it at SeaWorld. It's called WATER SHOOTER now. And it's HYDRO MAN"

Mega Man: "What ever you say, 'Wave Man'. What are you going to do, Splash my feet?"

Wave Man: "Shut up and taste my WATER DROPLETS OF DOOM, you blue scum"

  • what is funny is that Blademan has been announced as one of the Robot Maters for 10.

  • I had this when it was new. I beat all of the robot masters but my computer crashed from running out of memory.

  • Wow, Bit Man looks like a yellow Hard Man, looking at his portrait. They weren't really trying with that one.

  • i beat this game once its hard as hell

  • I can't defeat "Wave Man".

  • @ZeroJanitor i don't think they have temporary hit invincibility so just beat the hell out of your spacebar when you've got a shot lol. thats how i get most of these guys aside from watching their annoying jumping patterns

  • @ZeroJanitor

No matter how you dodge his Water Shooter, he just kills you again?

  • @RobotwarsKing

Even though he can get behind him, it's no use. He always gets washed away in the end.

  • @TotalSimpleton

Even if he shoots as fast as he can? = P

  • @RobotwarsKing lol did you guys see on the wily level in this game. i think it was oil man when i used the blade weapon .... effin instagib. those programmers ..... man

  • @PeskySaurus2

Oh yes, I saw that. At least Wily didn't wait out the invasion in his garden shed that time!

Oh, and as you killed Oil Man with the Blade Launcher, who'd have thought that'd be more effective on him than A FREAKING FLAMETHROWER? = P

  • indeed

  • Ahh hightec, the ones who gave us Beethoven's 2nd for the snes

  • at 00:30 -----DUURRRRRRRR!

  • LUL

  • Comment removed

  • Funny how Wave man's stage has more fire elements (burning oil barrels) than water elements

  • lol, Wave man is Air man in this version.

  • They need to put Torch Man, Shark Man, Bit Man, Blade Man, and other robot masters in a truly playable Mega Man game. This game is horrible that should not exist in the first place.

  • According to the leaked Mega Man 10 Robot Masters list, Blade Man will be used, although he probably wont be the same at the one here.

  • reality

  • wave man is air man !!!!!!!!!!!!!wooooooh that like means up is down and my whole view on relity has changed

  • i wonder.. why did they had to remake fucking everything? That doesn't make any sense. They already had graphics used in the previous megaman, and the color specs were aproximately the same. And .. did they remove the music?? That's like an EPIC FAILURE to me

  • @MonoCabron123

This wasn't Capcom that made it, it was made by Hi-Tech and developed in association with Rozner Labs, in other words a 3rd Party. Capcom had no hand in this.

  • LOL at the way Mega Man looks at the end of the video.

It is a nice touch how the frames of the defeated robot masters crack on the level select screen.

  • Wow PCs in the 1980s were terrible compared to consoles.

Consoles were actually MORE POWERFUL than PCs at that time.

  • this is an abomination!

  • lol it even has the exact same ending screen as mega man 1 DOS

  • Wow... perfect failure

  • Mhhh... not a very wave-ish level. This one looks like it would fit Oil Man more.

I guess that's what happens when you put two water-themed Robots in the same game.

  • mega man looks slightly confused, luls

  • OMG! Not another Mega Man game by Hi-Tech Expressions. :( (

And they still didn't add music.

  • thats not how megaman 3 lơks like

  • Wow.. this is baaaaaad. Really really bad.

  • What pc are you playing on, I have windows xp with a graphics card vga, and when I start the game, it won't let me play it...

  • You gotta love how Light talks. :P

  • There are oil cans everywhere and yet with all the flames nothing is blowing up? What kind of magical land do these people live in! Why is there flaming balls flying out of the oil cans! It makes no sense! People back then had to use their imagination sure but they didn't try to defy all rationality when they made games.

  • Angry Nerd, analize this bullshit xD

  • LMFAO I didn't even think of that. This would be a fantastic AVGN episode.

  • Nah, get someone funny, insightful, original, and not-annoying to do it instead.

  • Anyone notice how nearly all Robot Masters from this game are edited versions from RMs from Mega Man 2 and 3 (NES of course)? Their mugshots are ripped from those games and edited.

-Bit Man is like Hard Man but is yellow

-Torch Man is like Magnet Man but without the magnet

-Blade man is like Metal Man but colored pink and without Metal Man's saw on his head

-Oil Man is a red version of Flash Man

-Wave Man is based off Air Man (fan is replaced by water guns)

-Shark Man is clearly made in Paint

  • Definitely man.

  • Comment removed

  • Shark Man is Snake Man with a fin on his head.

  • Yeah, those are some pretty obvious rip offs. Good eye, though, to identify them. Given Torch Man's new appearance, one would have to wonder what all kinds of other robot masters would look like without those goofy adornments on their head. Quick Man without the boomerang becomes what exactly?

  • @WouW07

Actually, Shark Man is based off Snake Man

  • man... a game without music is so not no game

  • Oh my god. No music? This is like the worst game ever. But I'm glad you posted it. I've always wanted to know what it was like.

  • This game looks legendarily bad.

  • You can tell Capcom was starting to run out of ideas for the time when you saw most of them, although Wave Man is the most blatent..

  • Capcom? This wasn't made by capcom.

  • i love games with color (not like that) what i mean is for example, megaman series, wario land 3, zelda 4 swords etc etc.

  • i really like the music in this game

  • me too

  • Fuck you, I was gonna say that, lol.

  • lmfao

  • anyone know where they got the idea of Airman from ? if you look at wave man he looks just like Air Man , except one thing no fan in his chest. ^ - ^

  • and actually, i see a similarity in every boss here, on the stage select screen, to a robot from the NES series. well...except Shark Man...

    Torchman- Magnetman

    Bitman- Hardman

    Blademan- Metalman

    Oilman- Flashman

    Waveman- Airman

  • slider im sure is right. ive actually read something like that before.. (probably the megaman wiki). anyways i hope you guys enjoyed it... recording videos without dying is a bitch lol

  • sydlexia wasnt kidding about this, haha

  • Black hole bomb megaman ?!? O.o. So this is where they got that nifty outfit from for megaman 9

  • Wow. The boss just jumps around and tries to sweat on you every now and then.

  • Uhhh, music... Music..... Music, can you hear me, MUSIC!!! MUSIIIIIIIIIC!!! O, well... *starts playing epic music*

  • I love how Oilman was turned into a crude racial stereotype in megaman powered up

  • I love that you said "crude" as a descriptive word in your sentence for the racial stereotype of "oil man". freudian slip man lol

  • there already is a wave man.

  • This game came out before Mega Man 5. About 11 months before.

  • Oh my gosh!!! I actually played this when I was little. This was a wicked hard game, if I remember right.

  • NO MUSIC ? whata nonsense

  • Everything that Megaman ever stood for such as: groundbreaking music, fluid controls, and that just feel good feeling, have been violently and horrifically raped in these games. Please dont tell me Capcom made this.... Well... Whatever.. Nintendo gave copyrights of their two best game series to CD-I..... and just look what happened from that... Youtube Poops, thats what.. Lol. Megaman DOS poops haven't been made either, you should try that...

  • No, Capcom didn't make this, it was some other company who got the license.

  • Correct.

  • If there's credit to be given, at least some of the ideas are pretty good (I'd like to see the return of Torchman and Blademan in the future).

  • As far as the game: Why does wave man look just like Air Man? Why is there no music? Why does this look like a Chinese pirated copy?

  • Yeah, I think some of the bosses were modified sprites. At least according to the Mega Man wiki or whatever.

  • All of the bosses were cheaply ripped forms of the original bosses from MM2 and 3.

Torch Man = Magnet Man (MM3)

Bit Man = Hard Man (MM3)

Shark Man = Crash Man (MM2)

Wave Man = Air Man (MM2)

Oil Man = Flash Man (MM2)

Blade Man = Metal Man (MM2)

  • This game was actually made by an AMERICAN company called Hi-Tech Expressions.

  • That makes it even worse.

  • Geeeez that was a LONG intro. Twenty five seconds? There's not even any sound for it...

  • Why cant they just say "get equipped with wave shooter"? wait a minute, there is already a wave man in Mega Man 5! And is it to much to ask for some more sounds or at least some music?! wat kind of mofos made this!?!?

  • I think this came out before Mega Man 5, but you are right. The two DOS games aren't canon by any means, but they were made by another company, but legally under Capcom.

  • at least it is closer to the MegaMan we know

  • i didn't upload it cause its my favorite megaman, i did it cause no one else did. lol though it has a place in my heart (mm and mm3 dos)

  • I know, and I really appreciate it

  • i thought this game is made by a 13 year old kids who got 0 imagination, and can't make they own thing, so this is made by a joke company right???

  • Nope, it's legit. Wasn't developed by Capcom, but was licensed. Probably not the smartest move, trying to capture the PC user market and giving it to some unheard of company to do it in.
