The funny thing is, my mom did absolutely everything right. She never smoked in her entire life, and never drank when she was pregnant with me. She made sure she ate a very nutritious, balanced diet, and didn't even take Aspirin or Pepto Bismol during that whole time.
And yet, I was a full-term baby with a low birthweight (under 6 lbs.). On the other hand, she did exactly the same when she was expecting my brother, and he was the biggest baby in the hospital (nearly 9 lbs.).
I can just hear ALL of the pregnant women nowadays freaking out about mercury counts and whatnot.
I can understand eliminating the things that are obviously bad for us in any circumstance, but remember when women just ate what they wanted in moderation when pregnant? Back when only 1 in like a 1000 kids had a food allergy, because it really was just a random genetic anomaly and not their mothers being overly neurotic about their diets while pregnant?
