To the OP: I think you have some very cogent points. I'm (mostly) of European descent, and even I think it's far too limiting to just limit yourself to one ethnic group, regardless of if it is white, black, asian, etc (those lines are often very vague- my family has mongolian genes that sometimes show up in the eyes), I'm dating a Chinese girl tonight, have never dated an asian girl before, but it's NOT *because* she's asian. In fact, she asked me out. In any case, better ethnic love than hate!

I'm a Hispanic guy who has dated a pretty diverse mix - Hispanic, white, Indian (Including one half-Chilean/half-Mongolian girl - beat that, haha) but I see some Hispanic girls, especially the ones that are kinda educated but not total brains, and see themselves as above their roots, as only wanting to try and find a white guy. I kinda think it's to try and improve some kind of superficial status, but it also might be that in popular media, we are mostly shown white girls and guys as being cute.

Preference is a part of the freedom people have to make decisions for themselves that averagely lead them to hapiness more frequently. The limiting yourself part you speak of works the other way around for people with a (sexual) preference. If you can't choose who or what you like or prefer, that's seen as a limit on itself. I like the color red better than purple. Does it mean purple isn't right per definition? No, i just prefer red, so therefore i shop for red clothes to wear.

So, instead of demanding what I want or parting way with my friends for a silly preference such as seafood, I stay and get myself something that I want. Maybe a chicken sandwich? A BLT? Or maybe, I I'll just try to burger. It can't hurt to be open to such options.
For me, the main purpose of having an opinion (read: preference) is to pursue dreams of hapiness and not to change them. Should you remain open to change? Ofcourse, yet there's no reason in having a preference if you can't act upon it. Preferences reflect a relative image of truth which apply to your personal experiences. Though it is important to remain open to adjust your view on what truth is, it is also important to pursue personal truth in order to obtain hapiness.

Someone who knows they're considered good-looking, naturally has that confidence regardless.

From what I gathered, it seems like a lot of asian girls are exclusive to white guys or exclusive to asian guys. I'm (mostly) of European descent, and even I think it's far too limiting to just limit yourself to one ethnic group, regardless of if it is white, black, asian, etc (those lines are often very vague- my family has mongolian genes that sometimes show up in the eyes), I'm dating a Chinese girl tonight, have never dated an asian girl before, but it's NOT *because* she's asian. We are all descended from about 5,000 people if you go back 70,000 years. And during that time and after, Europeans and Asians intermixed CONSTANTLY- so there ARE no Asians who are 100% unrelated to Europeans or vice versa. We are all AFRICAN if you go back far enough. I'm a Hispanic guy who has dated a pretty diverse mix - Hispanic, white, Indian (Including one half-Chilean/half-Mongolian girl - beat that, haha) but I see some Hispanic girls, especially the ones that are kinda educated but not total brains, and see themselves as above their roots, as only wanting to try and find a white guy. I kinda think it's to try and improve some kind of superficial status, but it also might be that in popular media, we are mostly shown white girls and guys as being cute.

Preference is a part of the freedom people have to make decisions for themselves that averagely lead them to hapiness more frequently. The limiting yourself part you speak of works the other way around for people with a (sexual) preference. If you can't choose who or what you like or prefer, that's seen as a limit on itself. I like the color red better than purple. Does it mean purple isn't right per definition? No, i just prefer red, so therefore i shop for red clothes to wear.

Ofcourse, yet there's no reason in having a preference if you can't act upon it. Preferences reflect a relative image of truth which apply to your personal experiences. She talked about how her white boyfriend would sometimes joke with his friends about her asian ethnicity and sometimes pull their eyes outward to indicate the smallness or slanting of her eyes. Each person is entitled to their own preferences. If someone is not physically attracted to Asian women, for example, I don't see how it's unethical for them to turn down Asian girls.
At the end of the day, that Asian girl might have a great personality, but physical attraction is the main driving force the vast majority of people.
Chances are hard to give out. Think of the time, money, and false hope you'd be giving to a person whom you'd never be attracted to by "giving them a chance".

Someone who knows they're considered good-looking, naturally has that confidence regardless.
If someone doesn't have looks, their confidence needs to fall back on SOMETHING - i.e. wealth, physical ability, some sort of success, or just plain old arrogance (i.e. the "jerks" you keep hearing about)

Thanks for the advice. Maybe it would be better for me in the long run since we'd have things to relate to since my parents are immigrants while her parents are also likely to be immigrants as well. But who knows? Things like love tend to be unpredictable. I don't want to count my eggs before they hatch.

I also get why some people are mad. Some people who werent racist or had a deep seated hatred before seem to be now because of this issue. I can understand. When you have a preferance for a certain race other people who do not belong in that group feel like it is out of thier control. If it was a personality trait or style that can all be fixed. You can't do that with genes. I certainly would not like being refused about something determined at birth without my choice.

There is some aspect. Humans or all creatures in general need genetic diversity. It is 100% natural and human to be attracted to another "Race". There are several biological advantages for it. Your point in not giveing asian guys a chance requires a non physical aspect to it. It is erroneous to believe asian guys are not attractive to white girls for example. The most popular guy with the ladies in highschool was vietnamese.

oh I thought I said this I say it alot. That is True. For example if you look at the DNA of a Random black guy and a Random white guy at most they are still 2 times more genetically similar than 2 Random chimapnzees from each other. An Asian guy and white guy is 3 times more still. I am a white guy, interracial dating use to bother me somewhat till I read that then my whole outlook was changed dramaticaly like night and day.

That may be so, but wouldn't that depend on what kind of media you watch? I've known many different people which are absolutely obsessed by Japanese television and Anime that they literally dedicate their lives into "becoming" Asian (which for some reason is heavily looked down upon. Strange.)

Someone eventually does get left out... But, by broadening our perspectives and laying waste against "racial beauty" and realizing that each race has beauty can only bring us a step further from this kind of bias. From what I gathered, it seems like a lot of asian girls are exclusive to white guys or exclusive to asian guys. As a white guy I have taken advantage to this extra pool of ladies, however I do think some asian ladies are immature in their approach to only date white guys. Lol... I've never been in a "I want to be white" phase. I like being Asian, even if it deems being different from other people. I prefer an Asian guy (the ones I've known) over a white guy (the ones I've known) purely because we'd have a lot more in common and there wouldn't be like this race barrier.
