Ezio Pinza has an excellent rendition of Il Lacerato Spirito, have it on CD but unfortunately can't find it on YouTube. Among these renditions in this video, I prefer Christoff's. The ending of this aria is extremely important, I think, and the last two singers end the song too quickly, almost rushing out of the song, breaking the somber mood. All of them truly great singers anyway.

Non conosco Petri però a me è sembrato davvero ottimo ed anzi se è un ex-baritono la cosa va assolutamente a suo favore, non di certo a detrimento!

La voce è flessibile e ben posizionata, se davvero aveva cantato da baritono prima ;)

Christoff is the first, I miss Siepi, Petri is surprisingly tragic, Ghiaurov is good, in Konstantinov I miss the true tragedy and mourning too full of a voice, Christoff is the best in the Nabucco's Zaccaria and Philipp II!!!!

visti a teatro RossiLemeni Siepi Kristov Ghiaurov Raimondi Ghiuselev Ariè Ferrin Giaiotti Ramey Ridderbusch e altri, non ho mai sentito Petri (era aitante e bravo attore peraltro) e Kostantinov ...dico la mia: Petri una felice sorpresa , Kristov (visto) come sempre emozionante (ma il timbro non è proprio bello) e Ghiaurov imponente ma non mi commuove (ma nei duetti col protagonista era fenomenale)...Kostantinov buona voce ma non è corretto (legato e accento) e neanche tanto intonato..

Petri anche se non è nel repertorio,secondo me è quello che sa più quello che canta e dice;

Christoff è splendido,ma troppo togato;

Ghiaurov era un velluto,ma nel 78 era un pò in crisi,come si può sentire;

Konstantinov il nulla in contronto a questi altri.. Li ho ascoltati tutti dal vivo,e dal vivo l'impressione maggiore me l'ha fatta Ghiaurov.. Christoff in un Nabucco e un concerto,elettrizzante.. Petri no comment,troppo vecchio e fuori ruolo.. Konstantinov ottimo Timur,cattivo Attila..

usually with these cage matches, you have at least one or two sucky people to throw in, but these guys all sounded great ;D

Christoff ha un timbro davvero bellissimo ed omogeneità ed emissione sempre controllatissima ma in quest'aria è troppo Christhoffiano preferisco Ghiaurof (se si eccettua il sol grave un po' sbracatino...)

Petri anche non è malaccio se si considera che è fuori repertorio. Ma è un cantante secondo me troppo sottovalutato.

Come si fa ad omettere il Fiesco di Siepi proprio non lo capisco però.
