  • i have three questions please anyone answer:

    1) dont have much sunlight.. would florecent lights due?

    2) what happens in the winter when they die temporarly or hibernate -whatever- do i still water them untill the summer?

    3) i understand that you really sholdnt use manure or anything like that.. but im puzzled because i dont have professional plant stores here where i live -egypt- can i just use beach sand? as somthing that has no nutriants or anything? or can i just use sand from a local park?

  • @islamconstitution as far as i know:

    1) There is a video where ExpertVillagers talk about lighning.

    2) reduce the sun and the watering when they hibernate due to they low activity they dont need much resources to stay alive.

    3) Try using Sprhagnum moss and for sand try using ones u find in rivers coast as these r poor in minerals, if u use any other try washing it pretty well before applying to the pot.

    hope i helped :)

  • @AndiVicio

    yep thanks..

  • how do i catch bugs for my venus fly trap? EVEN THOUGH I LOVE SMASHING BLACK ANTS I DONT LIKE SMASHING OTHER BUGS LIKE FLYS OR SPIEDERS ALSO MY VENUS FLY TRAPS ARE STILL SEEDLINGS SO HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR THEM TO SPOUT CAUSE I LIVE IN A VERY DRY AEREA

  • @MegaBonzie from seed they might take 1 year or plus to show they first traps. And for catching bugs u might want to try eletric rackets as they numb the insect and then u can place then in the trap and make they close.

  • how do u spell the web site??

  • @FreeforallGhost its in the description

  • help me! what happens if your trap has moss growing on the dead leaves?

  • These are very good videos but it would be better if it would be a little better quality :D

  • please help me:

Should i keep the water level that is 1,5 cm in the pot?

  • yes ,never flood your venus fly trap put water underneath the pot at all times

  • Nice Pub

  • once a venus flytrap catches a bug how do they eat it??

  • they never actually need to eat, so dont feed it, just give it lots of light outside and it will eat on its own so long as it gets a dormancy. but it just puts out enzymes once it struggles to digest it. if you need help caring for your vft, email me or killerspider762. he knows alot about it. and has larger plants than me ( most of mine are only about 9 years old. so they are kinda small in the winter)

  • @theamazingplant2 They don't NEED to eat but it would end up a pretty weak plant.

  • @MFWFW no it would just be slow growing. ive tried putting a netting around a plant for one year so it caught nothing, and it was just slow growing. very healthy plant though.

  • @MFWFW yep agreed... mine "grow" smaller and smaller if I can't find any fly to feed them... =)

  • @thegreatMSG dude, pet store. crickets = $.11

  • @DAILL2DEF

the pet store in my home town only sell worms... ==

BTW.. why do you need to spend money if you can capture some free food for it ?

  • @thegreatMSG mainly since the plant takes it's nutrients from the insects, and I happen to have some pretty sorry looking insects in my yard. plant seems to enjoy the fat ass crickets more. really not watching it's weight at all

  • digestive juice

  • where tha hell do i get distilled water please answer!!!!!!!!!

  • big store any store

  • or rain water

  • From any car store, destilated water is used for car engine. Or collect rain in some dish, or use tap water but left it for a few days to settle in first...

  • how often should I water my venus fly trap? and is it okay to use regular tap water for a couple of days, just until I can get some pure distilled water?

  • Keep it soaking wet. IF your using tap water dont have your Vft sitting it water. Flush its moss plenty with fresh water. When you do get some purified water flsuh the moss then allow it to sit in water.

  • thanks a bunch!

I now have a source of distilled water readily available, and my baby venus fly trap is doing great!

cheers from Brazil, and thanks again.

  • I heard from a website if u wanna use tap water, let it sit for a week and then water ur trap with that water.

  • boil the water

let it cool down nd it will be free from bacteria k

  • thank you very much, my irish friend!

    cheers from an Irish-brazilian!

  • no you should use rain water or distilled but it seems that cant get that at the moment. Any water that dosent have salt/cholrine.

  • i called their website they have great offers! the plant is very healthy.

  • will the fungiside hurt the plant even if it doesnt have a fungas

  • i have just bought 1 a set of 1 ov its traps to watch it close and it did but it has been closed for 2 days now is this right?

  • If you placed a live insect in the trap then it is very normal for it to stay closed. Digestion can day several days. If you teased the trap to cause it to close... you may have used it the number of times it can close or your plant is just to weak to close any more. It takes energy to close a trap and should be avoided unless the plant gets energy back in the form of food.

  • it takes 3 0r 4 days to open again

  • You might have depleted that tip.. keep in mind that each tip can usually only open and close twice and then that's it.. It takes a lot of energy for such a small plant to open and close it's tips which is why you only need to feed it one or two insects per month.
