Nissan did an excellent job on this car. Its too bad most import kids will probably put a 20 inch wing on it and dump the pipes in favor of some ridiculous looking fart can on the back. Nissan obviously agrees that the V6 sound should be very silent, not loud. Anything less than 8 cyl doesn't sound good at all when uncorked.

XElementLakaiX is correct. It's brake horsepower. "Brake" refers to "waterbrake" style dynomometer. A strain gage or torque element is the measuring device. Youre right that its used to apply load to the flywheel though. There are many people and even a few publications that think this stands for base, but its not so. Any good dyno shop can tell you this.

I am sure it will take a standard 911, but I know for a fact it won't beat a new 911 turbo. Also who the hell would give $70,000 or more for a fancy Nissan 350z. For the kind of money that this car cost I would buy a used 01 or 02 911 turbo with low miles for around 60 grand and spend 900 bucks on a performance chip and bump my horse power up to 520hp and 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds and top speed to 201mph and smoke that crappy Nissan.

It's official. GT-R time on N'Ring is on cut slicks. So that time is bogus. GT-R Chief Eng. Kazutoshi Mizuno stated, "we used cut slick tyres". Probaly used other mods also.

why in the hell would you put a body kit on it? they spent millions developing the best aerodynamics they could get, i doubt a 200$ ebay blitz kit is going to do the trick. If you want a body kit and exhaust go get a civic, or if you wanna be really cool get a cavilier or neon and get the biggest spoiler you can find, and the loudest exhaust.cant forget the big graphics and spinner hubs though! thats how you get the chicks

The gtr is a good car. but the base models is going against the 911 turbo. the turbo will be slightly faster i believe. the EVO spec gtr have more power and torque. but will stay the same wieght or gain more. he's going against the 911 GT2....who gains more power and torque and loses more wight than i way.......and i ways 200lbs

The engine is a twin-turbo V6 that is coded the VR38 and will have a factory power output of 480ps or 473hp or 353kw and 58kgm or 419lbft or 568nm of torque. Redline starts at 7,600rpm and will be rev limited at 7,800rpm. Rumour has it that the engine has actually been de-tuned from a (rated conservatively) maximum power output of 600ps or 591hp or 441kw. The VR designation is rumoured to be connected to the VRH35L engine from the le mans R390 race car!
