There not all Twin Turbo. They offered a non turbo model N/A as well as the twin turbo model. Obviously the twin turbo model was more expensive and offered more power.
The non turbo models have aftermarket single turbo kits.
@pady999 shouldnt be any kits due to the compression being to high to turbo..if u change the piston to dish you can..but alot of ppl just go to the tt motor due to the internals being lower compression
@MARZOSIRUS they dont have single turbo aftermarket kits readily available for the N/A.... plus a single turbo wouldn't be strong enough to make a significant difference on the n/a version anyways. now the TT model well thats a different story. some ppl prefer a single bigger turbo to reduce lag etc.
@illAZNx If you do your research you will find the single turbo kits. It just costs a whole lot more to go that route rather then buy the TT engine in the first place.
@illAZNx "Some people prefer a single bigger turbo to reduce lag?" Wow....
Nissan used two smaller turbos to reduce lag a larger single would increase lag do to longer plumbing and associated thermal loss. The larger turbo would increase top end power though because it would move more air than the smaller two.
How can you say that? a TT Z is slower if it has stock turbos. Also single makes better power but bit more laggy. Ive spent alot of time working with 300 as i have 2 of them. And helped others work on theirs. Also both my Z's are TT so im not biased.
theres no such thing as a single turbo 300zx. well theres no bolt on u can buy unless someone makes the pips. so my guess thats a TT 300zx or a N/A and it still did good!!
Yeah quite a few people have done single turbo conversions on a 300. That wasn't an N/A no way a N/A can do a 12.4 there around 15.5 Brand new and stock... Also there was a BoV sound at the beginning from the Z.
@michaelsevilla1 I dont know where u get your info but think of it like this u know there are fox's out there but how often do you see one, just seeing a Z32 on a normal day is quite rare so i think seeing a single turbo setup is even more rare, Only on strictly race cars, Drag, drift,or top speed runs.
You're joking right? If you listen to the z32 as it launches,it has a great start but about just after it spools, the car breaks traction, for almost 2 seconds still making it up the track only a 2/10ths of a second behind the Supra. Do you know how close 2/10ths of a second is? It's less than 2 inches from nose to nose.
A full-on bitchslap to your face takes 7/10ths of a second. However....A Chuck Norris roundhouse kick takes 1/1,000,000th of a second to impact the back of your face.
well of course the supra won its already a beast stock...put a TT in it with a pair of wings and it'll take off..wat the supra TT won by like .19 i think the 300z did an outstanding job keeping up with it
yeah but the purpose of putting a single turbo in it isn't that. The stock turbos are shitty and break down if you boost more than 11psi. So there you have it. Tell me about it i'm in need of two turbos for mine
umm, you mean Exhaust manifold. And you do not have to get a different intercooler if you setup the piping for the existing intercooler. Its ok, i can tell you have no engine build/fabrication experience... but now you know, so its cool.
If I understood right, did this Z get modified at Z1motorsports in Atlanta? If yes, what do you think of these guys and their services? If you can go back in time, would you have dealt with them, or somewhere else? I appreciate your time. oh btw, I'm asking because I have a 95 Z that I would like to upgrade. But I'm a lil too scared.
I'm kind of late to be posting to this but Z1 is the best in the southeast if not the entire US. I have dealt with them on numerous occasions and I have always been happy with the results. When you do go there tell that cool guy named Shawn at the parts counter ztoenvy says hi.
i agree! i used 2 own a TT300zx and when i first bought it, it ran like shit but they had all the parts i needed and cheap compared to other spots...theyre the best z32 place in my opinion
Is this montgomery motorsports park in alabama? If so, ill be there with my z32 next import faceoff :)

Nissan driver has skill. He was ON IT with the take off. Lol. Good driver almost tied the race with a slower car vs faster car.
