  • Clever, hilarious, and true!

  • Wow! So right on point.

  • "So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth." Revelation 3:16

  • amen Francis.

  • I smell works-righteousness, and yes, I affirm Calvin's 3rd use of the Law as well.

  • Seriously @kingsfan. you think pastor chan would mock someone like that? He just hit the nail on the head. There is no middle and this member is thinking like so many other american christian people, that they can live plain jane christian lives and that it is okay as long as they are nice and do a few things for Christ every now and then, and that is far from the truth.

  • I watched this video and was amazed to see 7 dislikes??? Then I read some of the comments... people will really argue about anything wont they? Pastor Chan outing someone because they were IDed for being in the church for 15 years? What church do you go to? That could be hundreds of people in my church... it could be 1 of 50 people on the elder board alone. Secondly we are told by Jesus that if a person does not turn from their sins after private urgings, "tell it to the church" Mt. 18:17

  • Thank you so much for sharing, where may I see complete sermon?

  • Good speech, smart dude..

  • Wow, how inspiring, & it's so good to know that you guys are giving out these Development Kits for free. As charging for information like that, when you claim that peoples' eternal souls are at stake, would be somewhat unethical right?

  • @MrKerpelWatson Actually, they do. :)

  • That is the problem with new Evangelical movement "I tend to read what i says "

Showing the sheer ignorance of the deep complexes of the Bible as a whole.

Also seems he says do what Jesus says and yet he is wearing nice clothes...

  • @SteampunkPagan Being a Christian I know that wearing something that looks good is not something we should do. If he was putting his clothes first and his trust and faith in what he was wearing and not the word of God then there would be a problem. Being Christians does not mean we should wear sackcloth at all time or even at all. We should look presentable because we represent Jesus Christ.

  • @SteampunkPagan pt 2

We shouldn't lust after the expensive things because we are humble but we don't need to look unapproachable either. I am pretty sure the Lord Jesus did not say "wear terrible looking clothes" because no one would approach us, or listen to us. Basically we are not to lust after the new and expensive but just look normal and he does as does many other Evangelical,

  • @SteampunkPagan pt 3

wearing a suit also looks normal as long as its not flashy and you are talking about the price and name brand if it is name brand. I am pretty sure Jesus was not walking around wearing sack cloth and messy hair. So we Should do as He says and as He did, and be presentable. I never read once in the bible someone say to Jesus "You call yourself the Son of God yet you look like you are homeless and have been living in the wilderness".

  • @SteampunkPagan pt 4 though there were many time He did not have a place to lay his head, no one knew and if He looked like he did then people would surely have known. It's a common misconception that Evangelicals shouldn't look nice when its quite the opposite :)

  • Francis Chan is one of my most favorite Christian speakers. I especially love, "Just Stop and Think." Come check out my videos and subscribe please! I post my piano music, and you will not be disppointed.

  • I am wondering how the parishoner concerned feels about being trashed, having shared his concerns directly and in confidence, with His pastor.

  • @BritishSnail He didn't name the parishoner, and he may have given Brother Chan permission to say that. Who knows

  • @loveGodloveothers245 Fifteen years? Everyone will know who it is. Confidentiality is paramount. This private conversation should not be being discussed with anyone. Yes, the victim may have given permission but it doesn't sound that way to me. This sermon is about the minister, not about Christ. It is our loyalty to Christ that is important and anyone who feels troubled in this area should be able to speak about that. Faith is another word for trust and it expands into all relationships.

  • @BritishSnail A) He's not at his church, he's at a conference, probably recorded long after he left cornerstone, so know one would have known who he was talking about.

    B) Anonymity was retained, C) He may well have given permission - so anything beyond that is conjecture.

    D) The point is too important, and too indicative of the laissez faire attitude so prevalent in the evangelical church today to pass up the oppurtunity of mentioning.

    E) The sermon is all about loyalty to Christ.

  • @QuisSeperabit60 I disagree with you on several counts.

  • @BritishSnail Bare assertion is a logical fallacy, so you can disagree all you want. Bro Chan has a heart for seeing a church sold out for Jesus Christ, a generation of doers and not sayers. If you take umbridge with that I suggest you read the New Testament.

  • @QuisSeperabit60 1) You are not the one making assertions? 2) There is no need to be unpleasant with people who disagree with you. Rather spend your time defending Christ.

  • I don't have an opinion about his really, I'm thankful for anyone and everyone who has a personal relationship with God through the Spirit of our Lord alive within them. People are doing stuff for Christ all across this (fairly ungrateful of such essential influence) world. Many people do all sorts of things but don't boast. Cool! God bless ya! Great is the reward next life :-) ;-). We need to be careful that it's 'Jesus' we are seeking to serve & that we're not collecting brownie points.

  • Wonderful!!! I've given this message,,,had to laugh.

Love his energy!! The Lord's truth and light in love~

    Thanks for the post~

    His love abound~

  • Love this!

  • I love this dude he's pretty cool

but i really don't like his beard loooooool

  • Doesn't it make you feel better to criticize this guy instead of listening to what the Holy Spirit is convicting you about in your own heart. I think the spiritual answer to this video is to be offended, (Ps. 119:165) and not act on God's commands because His messenger is not perfect. After all, God only wants us to obey Him when everyone else is too.

  • @hashhbc 1 point for SARCASM! ^-^

  • i think the one person that disliked this thinks hes on the middle road

  • Icannottolerateit Lets look to the bible for that one. Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 5:24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Seems to me like the bible is pretty clear here, if we have a true saving faith in Christ, we have been crucified with Christ.

  • Hopefully Francis' 'understanding will lead him to properly bring these things to light in genuine compassion.

This is not a matter to smile about or joke about. We are not called to see men like trees, we are called to see men like we see ourselves. We are to mourn for these in this middle road more so than we mourn for those who are proud of their sins.

I hope you learn how to mourn in front of people some day Francis, I have hope for you! You seem like you are heading there!

  • @Icannottolerateit I don't think that Chan is without genuine compassion. I have seen many of his sermons and he is genuine and has compassion. It's part of his personality to be humorous, but he takes the God and His Word very seriously. Heck, he's more serious about it than the ones who don't smile or joke around.

  • Don't you detest your deceitful heart?

  • Awesome awesome video...

  • Matt Chandler has described this same kind of problem as "We need to stop studying the plays and start running them."

  • @dugw15 He should have said, "I", not "We".

Until a man can say "I am crucified with Christ" with the same degree of passion, sincerity and honesty that Paul did I do not believe he is fit to be a pastor.

I have only heard of a few people throughout the history of the church say this along with Paul and have the fruits to bear witnesses to it. Watchman Nee, John Sung, Evan Roberts and a very few others.....

We must start with ourselves before we start including others into the game plan!

  • @dugw15

    Well put!

  • Excellent

    A fresh voice expressing

    Obvious truth with passion and

    Clarity

  • Great video....

  • I read an interesting quote that said the church creates scholars so that it can get out of doing what Jesus told them to do.

  • awesome!! love this.

  • every time i watch this video i have to check my lane. i want to be in the narrow cycling lane and not be on the middle road.

  • what he said was funny about the new middle road - but it is also SO true! same thing with the follow the leader...and the "I can say it in Greek" thing... :)

Thank you so much for posting!

Glory to God in the Highest; for He is Always With You,

    ~Amanda

  • Very well said.
