  • I've a question what your camera?

I feel your pics smooth and with amazing colour

    thumb up :-)

  • is it easy to do HDR with raw? i find in CS5 using JPEGs is easy. do you have to compress or do anything special with raw images in HDR

  • Sorry but these are quite disgusting. I prefer the original images more.

  • you need to get rid of those Halos

  • Awesome

  • WAAAAAAY overdone.

Also, don't tell us to view in HD if you don't upload it in HD.

  • worst HDR-pics i've ever seen.

Too much Halos and too surrealistic.

    Bad Music.

    *thumbs down*

  • im sorry but i think i just dont like the "overprocessed" look of this photos.. some other HDR's are nice.. or im not just used to this or its a personal preference..

  • Impressive pictures but the music...some kind of kiddie-mobilephone-ringtone? Sorry but it is really annoying.

  • Ever thought about masking in an exposure that contains a good sky? Lots of noise and dirty clouds there.

  • Great HDR photos! I'l like to know how to make a brown color effect (e.g. grasses). Thanks!

  • Some of these photos are too extreme for HDR. Color and contrast are way off. :(

  • Okay,

I've have Photomatix, use the "grunge" preset but cannot get the clouds to come out like you have. I have set my ISO to 100, used a tripod, have a Canon 5d M2, great lenses etc. and still having problems with the dam clouds not coming out at dramatic like you have here and on the Photomatix website. Are you using filters when you take your shots? May I ask you just how you manage to get them to stand out so well?

    Thanks in advance,

    The Meltdownman

  • @meltdownman1 just make a dark pic so you can see the clouds well

  • @meltdownman1

you don't want your clouds to look like this. trust me. WAY too dark and overprocessed.

  • may nasubukan ako na photoshop plug in, topaz adjust.. ganda din.. anyway, nice shots/treatment po...

  • Photography and shitty music don't match!

  • But if I use only CS4 or CS3 , it still gives perfect HDR?

  • awsome pictures, i love them :) sweet tune in the bigening of the clip, wat is it called? i must have it :D it sounds awsome THNX

  • Beautiful photographs! I love how you manage to bring in the minute details of the clouds... i'm still learning my way around that...do you use photoshop or matix for that?

  • Real nice!

  • do you use a single RAW image?? if you use anything else can you please say what, im struggling to find what works best ;) thanks and great vid ;)

  • @An0nym0uscot RAW is best for any type of photoshop work because every time you save it you lose pixels.

  • So sorry for the late reply, Im sure you got an answer by now but no, I do not use a single "Raw" image. As a matter of fact I use up to 21 raw images to get the best dynamic range.

    Thanks for stopping by

  • @MaartePinoy 21!!! thats insane :L

  • @MaartePinoy... 21raw images!!?? that is overkill. 3 images of -2, 0, +2 should give you plenty (*but that just personal opinion as with more images you get, the more needs cleaning up (moving foliage, clouds, water, boats etc.) actually im surprised that yours quiet sharp on foliage, no ghosting...

Some images are amazing (and some are overkill on glowing edges and too contrasty for my liking)!! My favorite is 2:31!

Can I ask what lens do u use for shooting your cars @6:31? Thanks very much!

  • what's this song?

  • mb Photomatix - I think it is the easiest way to get HQ HDRI

  • Your are right on the money there! I love Matix but also use CS4 to give it that extra kick......

  • What program do you use to make The HDR pics?

I prefer Lighroom or MediaChance's HDR Program.

  • I use Photomatix in conjunction with CS4.

  • Great pictures! I really love them and you give me inspiration!

    Greatings from Sweden!

  • Thanks so much for the comment and I'am glad You were inspired. If there is any kind of help I can give You just let me know!

  • I appreciate all comments "Good & Bad". Even from folks that have no respect for others and no basis for judgment. I will not give You the satisfaction by replying in retaliation.

I guess the world needs folks like Yourself to balance out "Good & Bad" . Unfortunately since You reside on the Bad side, I pity Your 9year Son for having You as a Father to show him the way.

  • I have a tutorial on my channel

It shows where you get these halo's and overprocessed look from.

Everybody's personal taste, but to most people it looks just overprocessed instead of just vibrant or myserious

Do you have new photo's you can show? It would be interesting to see, cheers

  • I do have new images with no halos and oversaturation but have not put them in a form of a slideshow yet. Thank You for stopping by!

    ...Gina...

  • Ah ok, no problem

    ciao

  • Very good pics, but a little to much on the HDR in my opinion. I would like to see a second generation and check the improvements. Great work though!

  • An updated version of my current HDR sets are coming soon without over saturation ofcourse! Thanks for stopping by!

    Gina

  • You-Tube is not flikr and so burnt out on slideshows to music. Though this one one has a standard exposure then HDR after which makes it a bit more interesting. A lot of them look a bit too cartoony for me though.

  • These were from my early years of HDR which I agree were way too over saturated. I Thank You for stopping by!

    Gina

  • it's so good they allow you to photograph at all those places. I wish we could do it as freely here

  • I Thank You for the comment. Where would here be?

    Gina

  • I mean here in Russia. Most museums and historical sites - either don't allow to arrange photographing or charge enormously. And I think you're much ahead in terms of special and maybe weird museums - we don't have many of them now.

  • excellent.loved the images.just brilliant.

  • Thanks Much for the comment. Got to post a newer set, these are my first generations images.

    ...Ben...

  • Awesome HDR!! 5 stars ...

    Check out mine

  • I Thank You for the rating!

  • I Thank You for Your comment Dom, If Your interested in receiving a free image let me know and I will email it to You

  • hey loving your images. looks like living in an oil painting

  • Hi there,

its the usual love it ,or hate it thing. I know some of it i 've seen has been brill....so much so its even encouraged me to have a shot at the photmatic trial.....RESULTS..Totally rubbish..well, not strictly true, a couple of shots came out kinda cool BUT purely by luck rather than judgment. toooo many sliders to deal with.

Your stuff however is great ,altho' highly refective subjects seem a bit hit or miss(thinking of bike exhausts here, but wood grain really pops off the screen -)

  • Right You are on the Grain bit. I surely hope You get into it more as it is very addicting.

    ...Ben...

  • interesting radial zoom effect at 6:25

  • Correct You are, but before applying the radial I fractalized it.

    ...Ben...

  • Amazing pictures, but totally off topic, What is the first song at the beging of the video

  • So sorry, I looked everywhere for the song but I cant seem to locate it!

  • My view on HDR photography is that it looks best half real/half painting. All if not most of these look like paintings for the most part. If you're using photomatix or some kind of program and barely editing them, i suggest doing the whole HDR proccess manually on photoshop or whatever program you use, they turn out so much more beautiful.

  • I agree with you totally Xent! But limiting yourself just to one way of doing HDR defeats the purpose of exploring new ways of photography no matter how much editing or little is involved. As far as doing the whole HDR process simply with PS I have done that also but found that I save more time with Matix then PS after.

Well to each their own I guess and everybody has their own technique of editing.

I Thank You for your input as others that might be reading this may learn to love HDR.

  • don't worry you aren't the only one...but in my opinion HDR made the pictures look like they are a painting...I perfer the originals. Sorry :(

I'm just not used to all the edit of things.

  • Thanks Much for the comment none the less! Always open to constructive criticism good and bad.

  • Thanks Much for the comment and constructive criticism!

    ...Ben...

  • is there anyway to HDR images in PhotoShop 7.0?

    thanks!

  • Sir\Maam,

So sorry, not familiar with 7.0. Not even sure if Elements does it either. But when You are ready with other software let me know and I'll do what I can to help You out.

    ...Ben...

  • Thanks Ben!

  • Tops,

I forgot to mention to download the trial version of "Photomatix Pro" which will let You play around with HDR. Worth the download at least to get an idea of HDR.

    ...Ben...

  • I just did it!

  • I think the HDR mode was added to photoshop in CS2 so Photoshop 7 would not have it. I am not 100% positive though.

  • Thank you for quick response.

  • Amazing. I'm just starting to learn HDR technique. Is it fine to take 3 shots at diff. exposure or is it better to take more (5)?

  • 3 is the minimum recommended but, the more the merrier. It's just more work. I've done some with only 2 and the results were mixed. Some good some not so good. In photography is always good to experiment and find "your groove".

  • these are not HDR

you have played around with these photos in photoshop, or whatever editing process you use

and you have created an unsharp mask

but you have not merged multiple shots of various exposure

    THESE ARE NOT HDR

    these are CARTOONAFIED

  • If You are familiar with "Photoshop" and "Photography" for that matter then You should know that HDR IS accomplished within Photoshop. As far as the "Unsharp Mask" You are speaking of it is mainly due to moving objects such as clouds captured in long exposures and had to be done with MULTIPLE shots to have that effect.

I appreciate the comment and constructive criticism and would love to see Your images of HDR so I may have a better understanding of the HDR process?

  • I thought hdr was accomplished with a program like photomatix...

  • HDR can be accomplished by Photomatix and other programs. I also have Photomatix and other programs. The only problem I have with them is they work at a minimum of 16bit tiff as your after generated file all the way to Your final edited image.

With Photoshop, automating an HDR all the way to the final image can be accomplished in 32bit format with much detailed and enhanced results. I still use Photomatix because it is quicker tone mapping with the program compared to PS.

    ...Ben...

  • Maam, Still awaiting Your HDR You were suppose to send Me. Please inform me when You post it here on You Tube so I can learn from a true master like Yourself.

  • Hello there Master HDRtist I'am still waiting for Your HDR images? Or Your just another critic that has an opinion with nothing to back it up!

  • Most of the pictures were breath-taking, but some had too much saturation and haloing... I give a 8.5 out of 10...

  • You are correct on the over saturation part on some of the images, I just left them as part of my slideshow to show the transition from the "Early days" of HDR to my new technique.

Thanks Much for the comment and rating!

    ...Ben...

  • Very impressive work.

  • its amazing..5 stars

  • ang ganda naman.very nice.
