  • i was under the impression that "german' blue rams are a captivity-only breed that don't exist in the wild

  • How do you get soft water?

I am wondering, you say it is a wild pair, but wildcatch ramirezi is normaly much lower build. Maybe there is a difference in catch place.

Anyway. Very nice video of one of my favorite dwarf cichlids ever.

  • great vid! where did you find your wild caught? They are GORGEOUS!

  • Nice video, but they don't look like wildcatch to me.

  • you chose the right fish man rams are so cool I`m geting 2 and mating them becouse thay are toogether are redy and nice set up doude.

  • what is the plant the cave is made up of?

  • like the little moss shelter you ve made

  • sounds like someones smoking a bong !

  • hey mate there not wild

    just typical german blue's

native bolivian rams are much bigger and not so much colour

  • @0rgazmatron plus you can hear the filter

  • @0rgazmatron bolivian rams are a different species, m. altispinosa

  • do you buy them knowing there a boy and a girl or you just get lucky?

  • theire not wild

  • @osvas23 He got them from the wild... Retard

  • grows to a length of about 2.5

  • how big do they get

  • nice rams

  • The other day a ram cichlid couple I have laid about 400 eggs. Only 4-5 eggs died. The rest hatched today.

  • Hehe these are not wild. Wild Rams have very limited colour compared to their Colour bred cousins. which you have. Wild rams only have the iridescent Blue in half their body and no other colour is shown. maybe a pale yellow in the front half tops when spawning.

  • yep, i was just going to say that.

you got ripped off, thoose are not wild rams.

    nice colors anyways though.

  • I'd have to say you're likely right on that. I recieved some imported rams and they have the nice bright blue iridescence, but the red and yellow underlying color is pale compared to domestic strains. On the plus side, the wild ones seem to have a more robust, full body!

  • beautiful rams Can i get a shipping address from SA for these rams?.

  • Really nice, really nice colors, and the plant cover is a really good idea, i´m going to do the same with mine

  • hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Beautiful fish, and a very nice video of their spawning. Thanks. I haven't seen Rams spawn since I kept a pair back in the '70s. The colors are wonderful.

  • Hi Iversunfan, beautiful rams you have!!! I am very interested in getting a pair of these and plan to keep them in my 20 gallon with 4 leopard danios. My question is what measures do you take to provide them with soft, slightly acidic water, since I have read that is what they prefer? Any info would be appreciated!!

  • OK thats alot iversunfan. You helped me so so so much!!! :-)

  • I HAVE TO SAY THATS KIND OF TORTURING HIM/HER IF YOU DO. A FIVE GALLON JUST IS NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR A RAM OR ALMOST Any TROPICal Fish. BUT FOR THE RAM IT WOULD NOT BE GOOD A MINIMUM OF 10 GALLONS IS REQUIRED FOR THEse BEAUTIES. LOOK INTO A BIGGER TANK!!

  • Well, i wasn't planning on breeding hem but could i keep one ram alone in a 5?

  • DO NOT keep two reams in a five gallon! a 10 gallon tank is needed to breed two rams a five gallon is just not big enough.

  • can i keep 2 rams in a 5 gallon? I have heard reeders breeding them is 5 gllns, so???

  • i think you are having such luck because of the plant cover

  • Nice fish. What is the name of the plant they are hiding in?

  • beautiful fish!

  • how do we know which fish is female and the

    other which is male?

  • female has violet-pink belly.

  • Fantastic!! I want to breed those rams. What are the plants that they are hiding in? How do you soften the water. How are you planning to raise the fry, with parents or not? What are you going to feed fry?

  • Thats a good vid!

  • nice video, and superb rams you have, what are your water parameters and tank specifications?

  • Thanks, they are actually spawning in a small 16x8x8 breeding tank. They normally live in a 180litre discus community(see other video)Water is Ph 6.2 and very soft water..Temp is 84f. They prefer warmer water.
