Yes it will take the big 3 automakers from Detriot to make cars in China while that happend all the American branded cars that are recomended for Consumer Reports are all the made in China models while the USA made ones are not going to be recomended by Consumer Reports plus a car that is built by a Detriot based company in China will perform and have the same quality as a car that is built by a Japanese manufacuture while the one made in the orginal country of that company doesn't.

Another funny thing is that, while GM's US business is losing money, GM's China outlets are selling more cars than ever. Chinese consumers love American auto's more than the American's themselves.

Years ago, the West laught at China because they are poor and riding bike. Now they have cars, lot of cars. Years ago, the West laught at China's lack of Super athlets. Now China has alot of them. They got lot of gold medals in 2008 Olympics. The West used to think China is poor. China is going to own the world's bank soon. Now, it is time the West needs to send green tech to China to produce green cars before this globe is filled of bad air. What do you thik?

I dunno where this number is from, last number i checked was 65 million cars by end of 2008 with an additional 10 million in 2009 by analyst estimates. It definitely is not only 14 million, beijing alone has 3+ million cars and thats just 1 city. Projected car # by 2020 is 150 million+ Thats gotta do crazy things to gas prices

China needs to figure out a way for people to experience freedom in other ways. In my opinion, China would best serve the world by making hybrids. If they focus their attention on making hybrids, they will not only be reducing their dependy on oil but also saving the environment. Unfortuantely, nature will react accordingly to the pollutants it is given. It is never to late; however, to begin changing the focus. Comments?

It is true, Chinese driving sucks and the first few generations of domestic designs are indeed death traps....BUT with that as a base, things can only get better. The only issue that is a major concern is pollution.
