They swam along with the boat for a 1/4 mile or so to an eddy on right. No injuries, they were lucky. We righted the 18' boat but it was surely heavy.

Way to line up backward, totally a good idea if you are going to PULL downstream into that hole. But PUSHING UPSTREAM? There was no momentum and thus the flip.

we took the same run and got caught in the second hole and luckly didnt flip... but a 250 pound guy fell out of our boat and bent the oarlock and we went right through the rock garden pinballing off every rock.

I know!!! The were coming donw the rapids simply shoved them back into the surf, really cool.
