  • man i dont know where i can get the backing track for this video?Could you help me out Dave?

  • That's cool stuff Dave! It seems so easy when you pour out those melodic ideas. I'm sure every aspiring guitarist will want to grab their guitar right after watching this and... will happily produce some noise :)

  • Cool Vid!

  • That helepd so much cheers. i have recently started a new guitar channel it would be great to get your view on it

  • Thanks for these clips Dave.

  • I really like the clip at the beginning

  • I can't wait to join the VIP section of ROTW. Also can't wait to hear the new album. You rock Dave.

  • That approach you talked about some time ago that consists of not looking at the notes you're fretting while playing might be useful here as well. Keep up the good work, Dave. Greetings from Portugal

  • do you know yet if the subscription'll be available to us lot from the UK? another cool lesson, thanks:D

  • Yes, subscriptions for the new website should be worldwide, or at least, available to anyone who has a Paypal acct.

  • thanks Dave!

  • Dave ...I've been watching for a year now. Thanks for all the tips. Your lessons on modes this year was awesome. Looking forward to the new site!

  • I have a question abt. the modal approach. Since G Mixo == Amin == F Lyd, how do you emphasize the individual quality of each of these modes without sounding like you're playing just Amin? When I play it just sounds like one mode instead of three.

  • target key notes and intervals.

  • Aww, season 3 finishes on my birthday

  • happy bday

  • Great!

  • Wow, nine minutes. Hell yeah! Looking forward to another great season!

  • loving all of these riffs, what can i expect next season?

  • awesome ! can't wait for the website :)

  • Someone send this to Yngwie Malmsteen.

  • Ouch! Nice! True!

  • LOL!!!!!!!!

  • Speaking of modal approaches, my favorite degrees to emphasize when I play over the minor seventh chord are 2 and 6 (Dorian). And generally, I try to stay away from the root. One of the exercises I have for my students is to improvise without using the root.

  • when you talk about playing modally...

when i see a song with the chords harmonized from A minor for example, i just think of f lydian, g mixo, a minor, c major etc as all one scale. i know they're not but i'd treat it all as just "A aeolian". kinda interesting difference. but i still know the full deal about the different modes and how F lydian for example is actually a different mode.

  • Thanks Dave

  • Thank you for all the videos and help, to me and the guitar community. ROCK ON Dave ;-)

  • Another great lesson Dave!!

  • Thanks for another season, it's been great.
