Do YOU know that THE OBAMA 'S spent our "precious" TAX dollars on A 242 THOUSAND dollar trip to Spain WHICH included a $2,500.00 per night 3 story 5 Star Villa, an Air Force 2 that took $11,351 dollars PER HOUR to opperate and that ALSO took 47,500 gallons of jet fuel that USED 1,031 TONS of CO2(I thought we were suppose to go green, they are NOT helping!), and of all things A 2 BILLION dollar trip to India....is this how you want your tax dollars to be spent???
On Jan. 3, 2007 the DOW closed at 12,621.77, the GDP for the previous quarter was %3.5, unemployment was at %4.6. The US had 52 straight months of job creation. On Jan. 3 the Dems took over the House and Senate. Barney took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee. Where were the economic crashes? Banking and Financial. Oh and Bush asked congress 17 times to stop Fannie and Freddie but Barney called it "a Chicken Little Philosophy."
July 2008 the World Bank report argues that the drive for biofuels by American and European governments has pushed up food prices by 75%. That is in stark contrast with the White House's claims that using crops for fuel, rather than food, has only pushed prices up by 2-3%.
@KabulNew Bush got unemployment down to 4.4% AFTER 9-11, 2 wars, the worst terrorist attack in American history, and one of the most devastating natural disasters (Katrina) in American history.
"Fucked America"? That didn't happen until the Democrats took control fo Congress & Senate and controlled the spending after 2006. It only got worse when the brain-dead morons who are allowed to vote put an unaccomplished fraud in the White House who took unemployment to over 10.
Bush totally made stupid decisions to expand government. But the real blame still remains with the Congress for allowing this moron to continue his funding. Unfortunately, Obama is following in his footsteps with more mindless spending.
To "NoSocialistAmerica" I dont know where the hell you got the idea the first 6 years of the economy was "fine". If you're a moron who didn't realize it before then you should by now, you dumb ass idiot.
So why did the Republicans lose? Because they had already DOUBLED the national debt. The only thing the Democrats did wrong was continue to play along with Bush. He should have been IMPEACHED for treason.
you are ridiculous. if you think it'll be any different under a democratic executive and a democratic congress, you are delusional. this has nothing to do with presidet bush. nosocialistamerica is completely correct: this is congress's fault (they are supposed to practice CONGRESSIONAL OVERSIGHT), so thank your representatives!
listen up boppers its time to pull up your underwear stand up straight and stop letting your government fuck you up the arse.weres ye balls now bush haha
And just to add some more. We aren't in an official recession and once we do enter one you can definitely blame Congress for that as well. I love how everyone thinks Mr. Bush is a retard when he has done more in his "Lame Duck" year then most other presidents have done in their entire term. You people need to wake up and smell the coffee.
President Bush nailed the nail on the head in this speech. Ever since the democrats took control of Congress it has gone downhill. And to think that you idiots want Barack to run this country. I have never seen a presidential nominee that lies more then Barack. And just to add to it all I live in Chicago, IL and I love how people think that he is MLK. He is a fucking idiot that has done nothing for this state what so ever. Crime is up, IL is corrupt as can be and you want him to run our nation.
You guys are so critical of him but when you should be thanking him that your still alive. If Obama gets elected, our country will face repeated attacks of terrorism from a variety of countries and terrorsit groups. Look at the big picture guys.
Lol people like you act like terrorism existed only in the past 8 years. Like terrorism is in a definite place that will give a formal surrender. Or could terrorism be just an ideal by fanatics. By the way Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.
wanna smack that bitch in his face..terrible job he's doing i mean, if you call an economic crisis a good job lol iuno what to say, and why wont he pay for the damage he has done i mean he's president so i know he has a pretty good bank roll, and a war in a iraq? for what pointless billions of dollars lost and now working americans have to pay, lol yea i bet bush's mother is very proud (not sarcasim)
Even Bill Clinton agrees: Going very much against the media meme that the current financial crisis is all George W. Bush and the Republicans' fault, Bill Clinton on Thursday told ABC's Chris Cuomo that Democrats for years have been "resisting any efforts by Republicans in the Congress or by me when I was President to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac"
Search New York Times 2003 article:" New Agency Proposed to Oversee Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae". Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.
Among the groups denouncing the proposal today were the Congressional Democrats who fear that tighter regulation of the companies could sharply reduce their commitment to financing low-income and affordable housing.
It wasn't at 11,500 in 2000 when Bush took office, it was on a down-turn. The Stock Market set records under Bush going over 12,000 for the first time in history. Unemployment is still low. The price of oil which no President can change is the single most contributing factor to the lower Stock Market since Democrats took control of the Congress.
I guess you never realized that the Stock Market goes up and down before.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.
But American's wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress & yep--we got 'CHANGE' all right. In the PAST TWO YEARS:
1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop
by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS & PRICES STILL DROPPING;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

Here's a fun fact:
The Dow Jones was at 11,500 in Jan. 2000 when Bush took office.
Today, nearly eight years later, it's at 11,370 and still falling!
Heck of job Bush!
