Hey how are you using the launchpad with the maschine. I read in another comment that you were running this through the maschine software, does that mean ableton can coordinate with the maschine software or did you get the launchpad to work with the maschine software? What are you doing witht he launchpad in gneneral? I have the maschine so I'm pretty familiar with that but I was considering getting a launchpad do better organize my music, where as the maschine is awesome for sequencing.
@MossSmurff Well, it all depends on what purpose will you be using the controller 'cause they do completely different things. Launchpad is great for controlling ableton live but it doesn't come with its own bank of sounds. On the other hand maschine is a complete package with huge sample library and a decent sequencer. Let me know what you decide.
@kb1629 You can also map maschine to control Live in a similar way the launchpad does. I also think that with the new update, you can use maschine as a standalone in conjunction with Live running simultaneously, and switch between controlling Live and Maschine... But I'm still trying to figure it all out.
@kb1629 I have a question: at around 0:27 you push some pads on maschine but the soundelayed, then you play some more and it melds into a beat. How did you do this? I don't have ableton or a launchpad but I want to get them to compose music semi-live (I work better and "feel" the music better that way). Does ableton live and a launchpad(or apc40) work well with maschine for that? If you've ever seen madeon's pop-culture that's kind of what I'm talking about.
@ace101guy i went with expensive one first then bought a used launchpad for around 75 us dollars. lots of people are gonna tell you to go with trigger finger instead though cause it's cheaper. maschine is good if you want a nice old school drum machine feel with the flexibility and options that computers can give you. oh, and you get tons of amazing drum samples too along with free library updates. launchpad is simply for launching scenes or patterns or whatever you wanna call them.
@LilMitusTV Thanks man! Well it all depends on what you're after. Kore 2 is great for controlling soft synths and sound designing and also for live playing. It's not as fast and easy to use as maschine. You should try the Kore 2 Player first. It's free from NI's website. You can even map the knobs to maschine hardware if you like.
@kb1629 hey dude has anyone ever put lyrics to this beat? i would love to get the chance to put some lyrics over this beat. if u have it recorded and want some lyrics over it let me know ide love to get down tothis beat. best beat ive heard in some time !! check out my flow search north of the border tube djwaldo
@mszostek123 Hi! Maschine is controlling its own software, in which I've programmed the drums. So basically in the video I'm only muting / unmuting sounds.
When using Machine to control other NI instruments like FM8 or Massive does it come up nicely on the lcd which knob controls what with the template.. like cutoff/res filters? I am asking if I would need Kore 2 at all if I bought Machine?
Hey man. Maschine's got built in templates for some of the Ni synths (Massive and Battery 3 for sure). And they do show all the parameters in the lcd. But Kore is all about sound layering and designing. So if don't want to do that then don't buy Kore.
yes!! probly the only decent workflow i've seen on youtube with midi keyboard n maschine. awesome man!

@ace101guy either one can simply be used as a plain midi controller for doing anything with anything that's midi controllable.

Thats wassup. Nice beat man. One question though...is the maschine useful in conjunction with the KORE 2? I'm thinking about buying both.

Is Maschine controlling anything in ableton that the launchpad cannot? Or is Maschine just controlling its own software?

@MRVISDOME Thanks for your comment. It's more of a electrojazz tune. So more/hiphop drums wouldn't fit very good in this tune.

is the berhinger control really necessary when you have faders on you keyboard?
rexatar 2 years ago
My keyboard is Remote SL Compact so it doesn't have faders. And BCF2000 has motorized faders so that's why they work better for me anyway.
kb1629 2 years ago
does the zero mkII controll have motorized faders?
rexatar 2 years ago
No.

All you can really say is that this is real smooth. Like I want to drive to this or just sit back and contemplate about what to do with my life.
