That's not true. When federer is really on he has the best passing shots in the world, simply unbelievable. But serve and volley against federer has proven effective numerous times.

Yes, but you have to force him to run and hit a very tough shot off your first volley and it may even take two or three like that to get the play...

What I mean is that he is the last guy against whom you want to serve and volley for 3 main reasons:

1-he's got the best passing shots on both sides

2-he has the most fluent footwork on the tour

3-he's the best player to play running half volleys, even from the baseline

chloe i totally agree with you, for example in the us open against andreev he showed emotion one in a while a positive attitude like that is cool... on the other hand breaking racquets once in a while shows us what he really feels... but hopefully the latter doesnt become too often.
