Though the One Child Policy is a contributing factor to these kidnappings, I agree something has to be done in terms of population control. he larger problem seems to be the societal values that favour boys and the lack of government response to the crime. There is a demographic problem being caused by these values because many parent choose to abort female children.

I think it's a bit naieve to assume that all of these kidnapped children are simply being raised in new homes.

The fact is that there is a global sex trade that exploits children. I highly doubt that there are any true stories of these children being "better off living in more comfortable homes now."

I really admire those parents for coming together to do something about their situation. The government should be held responsible for suppressing their sincere efforts.

To be fair, although the children sex trade industry is quite rampant in many developing countries, due to China's unique One Child policy, I do believe that most of these boys ARE in fact sold to parents who want sons. As to whether their lives will be better, that's hard to say. I am not FOR the government suppressing the parents' voice, but acknowledging this problem would require recognizing that the One Child policy has major downfalls.

The Chinese secret police is pretty good at keeping track of Human Rights Networks and then claim they can't deal with Human Traffickers? That is a bit too unbelievable.

Dealing with this crime has nothing to do with one-child policy. Maybe it started this trend, but the policy does not stop the police from doing their job and catching the culprits.

Some kids' organs are sold to private hospitals in the world (mostly USA) where the organs can be sold to some westerner parents of sick kid. That is why I am against private hospitals, since it's all about business and their are some dirty people out there who are willing to do really bead things for money.

yes thats absolutely true, i have heard about these stories, about children being kidnapped, and organ harvested and sold to the west where the $ is. dispicable, youd never think a human being could be such a monster. the ONLY posible good thing about this horriffic crime is that many of the kids will get a good home by comparison, but the abundant chinese military should be shooting these freaks.

It is heartbreaking for the parents and devastating for the children.There is some comfort for the parents in that the people buying the children will take care of them as if they were their own children and will not abuse them or harm them.This is not the case in the U.S. where kidnapped children disappear and are never seen again. Taking a child from its parents is a terrible crime which leaves the family inconsoleable.
