  • My father came up north as a bracero. He saved up for us to get our papers years later. Now we are grown:we have 2 teachers, 1 engineer, one manager 2 post office workers and 1 apartment manager. Thank you mom and dad for coming to "el norte" I love this movie.

  • A great resource for teaching. I've used this in college classes on Latinos in Cinema and Gender and Migration. Now I am teaching in Guatemala for a year and didn't have a chance to get a copy of the video to bring with me, so I am very grateful that this is available here. I'll let you know how my Guatemalan students respond to the film.

  • @lmknauer I watched this film when I was in college. However, it wasn't in a Spanish class. It was in a Political Science class.
