The Bulgarians are a Turkish-Onogur tribe that came to the Balkans about the seventh century, that was then inhabited by Slavic tribes, and there they were assimilated in the Slavic culture, they took Slavic language, but left their Bulgarian name. So even though they are not originally Slavic, they are now.

You haven't read or learn smthng about the Bulgarians..we have been assimilated with the Slavic but we have been much more than them..they got their culture from the Trakiyans so we've taken some of that culture.. and Bulgaria - 643, Otomans - 1300 How can you say we got something in common with them ??????????

@Teodosijevic I got your idea now :) you see Bulgaria i on 1300 years and our story isn't clear at all - there are 17 oficial different thesis about where are we from.. The last thing I read was that the ancient bulgarians have 14 letters exactly the same with the trakians letters so they say that maybe some of the trakians had gone to asia and after many years they return as bulgarians..
