nice animation and yes you are sexy. But beyond that nothing much in this article. The other social networks are pissed cause it leaves them high and dry.
"...algorithm driven solely by advertising dollars not only selecting news events but the content of those events, the facts of the event for you. Google and other search engines... are censoring the news to fit the customer's assumed interests and capture those all-important click-throughs to advertisers."
I don't want my search results to have anything to do with my identity. That's bullshit. When I search for something, it's got nothing do do with who I am, where I am, who my friends are, yadda, yadda yadda. What kind of putzy douche nozzles actually go for this shit?
@Javasaur13 If you don't want it associated with your identity, don't use a Google or Bing account at all. Both personalize results based on your historical interests (which is a good thing, but y'know, whatever helps you sleep at night).
Rather than show examples of why it is bad (examples, as in real searches showing it's bad), you make ambiguous claims about how it could be bad while also claiming that you know exactly what made their search engine a success. Where's your multi-billion dollar business? Right.
@darlagoddesshate The lady says "Google is mucking up search results by promoting its own self-interests ahead of what's accurate and relevant" (0:28). No proof, just an ambiguous claim. Has she even used Search, plus Your World? I have, and I assure you this isn't the case. In fact, for many queries I've tested, it doesn't affect the top 1-6 results at all. In addition, it's crazy easy to disable it when your friends happen to be fluent on the subject, but not what you're after (unlikely).
When they stop removing items that fall under DMCA violations from their search, then maybe.
DMCA as a whole is pretty biased.
So tired of Google anyway...their support on any of their products sucks, and they have wrecked YouTube in the last 2 weeks with no answer as to why. For all those employees and touting how well they treat them, you would think they would have some legitimate support for their products and services.
Say what you want about Microsoft but just remember that without them you may have had to pay far more than what you should have for Apple's operating systems, since they'd only be competing with buggy Linux systems.
@diggerjohn111 I run Snow Leopard on my Hackintosh. Is that bad? It's better having an ugly computer with a fast OS (on me, at least) and repairing it when you have to than paying for the aluminium to case a computer you can't repair in.
You are diluting the argument into PC vs Mac. I simply do not agree with crediting Microsoft with bring down the price of PC while windows7 cost me $100 to upgrade with student discount from vista to win7 (vs. $29 from Mac 10.6 to 10.7).
@lovelyxtube 1 PC, 5 years, repaired over 3 years ago, frequently improving it. You lose.
BTW, I don't hate Apple nor Mac nor anything from that marvelous company. I just hate how their users boast on it like they are God. IMO, I'd be buying an Apple ASAP.
@jaymthegenius They were talking about an antitrust case in Europe - where now people are given the choice on what browser they want because the EU was bitching about how Internet Explorer was the default browser in Windows.
Also, Dell sells Linux systems, as do many other manufacturers.
@jaymthegenius Just because they oppose legislation that's bad for the internet in general and for their business plan specifically doesn't mean they're doing good things everywhere else.
bing links facebook, and maybe even tritter, it probably should have been mentioned

If you are talking about PC hardware cheaper than Apple, then it has nothing to do with Microsoft.
